Gilly i have sent you a message on FB.
I left LO with OH today for a couple of hours. Hated it! Keep thinking about what she was doing/if she was crying/if she was asleep etc!
LO still doesn't sleep much in the day and gets cranky around because she is so tired but then she sleeps at night so i am able to cope with her crying in the day
Big hugs to anyone who needs them
Hi Laura, I don't think I get messages from people who aren't on my friends list, I will add you and you can re-send if that's ok?Hi ladies, sorry I don't post much here.
Gilly as you may know my lo has reflux and subsequently had severe colic. Lo was tested for lactose intolerance but the results were inconclusive whatever that's supposed to mean?! Green poo can be a sign.
Anyhow reflux doesn't always mean vomiting and it can be damaging if not treated so please don't dismiss it too quickly. Does your lo arch during or after feeding? Does lo sleep in your arms but struggles in crib?
Feel free to pm me but Facebook is easier.
Whatever it is you WILL get through it. I found the first 3 months very hard.
Thanks for this, will add you on facebook too if that's ok? Fiona yes?I echo what DL said (hi again by the way ) My LO was diagnosed with silent reflux - this is where the acid was burning his chest and throat but he would swallow it back down again, equalling more pain. Doctors have seen this plenty of times and should prescribe something to sort it - our lives became MUCH better once it was sorted.
He used to scream at the sight of his bottle and not want to eat very much at any one time but would constantly be crying because he was hungry - it was a miserable time but easily sorted. He also used to make this grunting sort of noise at night - we now have him propped up at one end so he sleeps easier.
And yes it does get better
x
Thanks Claire, I am going to the doctors tomorrow, so will see what they say, in a way I'd like them to tell me it's reflux as at least in a way I'd have a diagnosis and be able to start treatment

Jen- Big hugs. I cant imagine how you must be feeling right now. I know how scared i was when we ended up in hospital with LO. No problem is a good problem to have, and a heart problem sounds horrifying, but if there is any comfort to be had, at least murmurs are fairly common. I had one myself as a baby, and i was fixed pretty easily even back then.. no ill effects as an adult.
I will be thinking of you both.Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

I'm also feeling like a never ending cycle of what next- from our spell in hospital, to silent reflux being likely, and now, the HV has been again just to see how we are doing, and thinks LO may have a slight tongue tie which is affecting the efficiency of her feeding now she wants bigger quantities, and may be why she hasnt been sleeping well, settling, and feeding so often (19/20 times per day is normal)
Its so annoying, as i asked if they thought she had a tie when in hospital when she was born, and was told yes by one MW, and no by another, who refused to look/investigate any further.
The HV is ace, and is speaking to a lactation expert about it, and will call me tomorrow, and we will go from there. It makes me so cross that LO has potentially getting hungry and frustrated for 6 weeks, when it could have been picked up pretty much from day1. The HV said it could explain the excess wind, and the reflux, as it is forcing her to feed so often and try and suck so hard to get satisfied.

A scan has shown it is not a murmur (our worse fear) it is a rare medical condition which has caused deformaties on her heart. She is lucky to have made it to 8 weeks without her breathing failing! She needs a major op tomorrow. The doctor has told us children have died during the op etc. But on the plus Ellie is a good size strong and not ill. She is asleep and I am wide awake!! I love her so much she has to fight this!:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heart
Proven to be a little fighter and battling on with her heart condition :j
