Fluff - bless little Freddie, he is soooo adorable I want to squeeze him!
I like seeing pics of your [STRIKE]idiot[/STRIKE] little man!! ;)
    Xx

I agree :D Fluff, please can we have a photo of Freddie EVERY DAY? Ideally by 8am so that when we wake up knackered after yet another poor night's sleep, we've got Freddie to put a smile on our tired faces. Thank you.

Money penny on the whole, age mates where one is FF and one is BF, the BF will drink less in terms of volume. Is is because the formula is mixed with water, whereas the BM is just made as is and isnt mixed with anything, it's more concentrated I suppose. Hope that makes sense?! :)

    Of course!

Here's my favourite one at the moment which shows perfectly how [STRIKE]gormless[/STRIKE] beautiful he is. The jumper's John Lewis by the way - fabulous isn't it :D

Moneypenny, I think I have a snack feeder, she has half a bottle, then sleep or stay awake for an hour plus, then eats the rest. She has about one oz per every hour until next feed, so if she's had 3oz, she might sleep 3h, if she has 1oz, she'll be awake within the hour. She.has roughly 22-25oz a day. She had 4oz before and she drank it within minutes, then nodded off. We are on number two teats, which I believe are for babies over a month old. But I think you should not see the cheeks going in, like dimple-shape, but the jaw moving. At least my mw said (when I was BF) that if the cheeks went in when sucking, she might be doing much effort. That said, I have no clue and I can't say from your post, but other BF ladies might be able to chip in! :)

Marta - I completely understand your dilemma. But for me, one thing stood out in your post: that you initially said yes in a heartbeat. If you really think it could help your career, and it's experience that could help you get a job later, then I'd do it. Your LO will be fine - it's only for a few hours. And in a way the fact that she's young isn't necessarily a bad thing - she hasn't yet reached separation anxiety age, so probably won't be as upset about you leaving her as you might expect.

I think it's unlikely that nuseries will accept her for three days - many of them have waiting lists, but no harm in calling a couple and ask. A good childminder should be happy for you to talk to the parents of other children that they look after, which might help put your mind at rest. Otherwise, look at your local Netmums site and see if there are any recommendations there - you could even post yourself and ask if anyone can recommend someone. Having said this though, is there no way your OH could get a few hours off work to look after your LO?

Who knows what doing this work might lead to? Other opportunities maybe - with your supervisor or with someone else. And if you do find a childminder you're happy with, it'll be a lot easier to say yes next time.

Moneypenny, some babies will be fast on the bottle and others slow, bit like breastfeeding really. Mine has always been a guzzler (well after we got his meds and milk right) he can do 8oz in about 2 mins 30 but that's with fast flow teat. Slow flow is probably right for a breast fed bubs but just keep an eye out if she's sucking the teat in on itself or getting lots of wind you'd maybe be best going up a size with the teat. Mam are pretty good bottles we love ours :)

There are no right or wrongs really just what your baby likes/needs and trial and error I find x

Because I've had slightly too much wine and because I'm sorting through my photos... here's another one. I posted this on the pregnancy thread but I don't think it ever made it on to this thread.

My favourite Freddie photo ever.... six days old and nmon nmon nmon, eat him all up.

Yay!! Just received my delivery of Ewan the Dreamsheep! I'm hoping for amazing things after reading all the reviews on Amazon, and the recommendations on this thread. LO is very unsettled after her 7/8pm bottle, and generally won't go in her cot until she's had another feed at 10/11pm, so I'm hoping Ewan will help her get into the habit of going to bed at a more reasonable hour :)

:jI love Ewan! Let us know how you get on. Quick tip: if she isn't fussed about that red light that he emits (my LO wasn't), switch it off - it drains the batteries really quickly :o
