They are indeed - which is why we've all pledged to stay on this thread until our babies are at least 18 years old! We'll still be awake at 2am then - but instead of worrying about milk and poo we'll be awake wondering what our teenagers are up to and why they aren't home yet

Just took one of the dogs out onto the field near us (the other one's got a tiny crack or something on her paw pad and I don't want the salt from roads to get in and make it hurt)... must have been about 50 kids and parents out there sledging down the hill the field is on (we live in a very very hilly part of town) and surprisingly, none of the little yob element out snowballing them to spoil the fun (I spent most of my childhood dreading snow days because I was a quirky bullied child so would get snow scrubbed in my face a LOT)... really nice to see.
Also nice to see the big back wheels that irritate me sometimes on the buggy mean it pushes like a dream in the snow compared to all these fancy ones basically being shoved along with their wheels locked.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
Hi ladies.
fluff I think turtle has pretty much covered everything re bfing and blw, I've had pretty much exactly the same experience with it. George is 8.5 months now, started weaning with purees at 5 months and blw at 6.
G didn't start properly swallowing anything for WEEKS, and I was this close to going back to full time purees (he has a few spoons of mush at tea time now but will be stopping that when I run out of jars) as it was so frustrating, plus everyone telling me he wasn't getting everything he needed (load of crap - milk has everything he needs).
At the beginning we had most succes with sweet things like melon and mango (messy but once he gets the hang holding it its worth it, leave the skin on so its easier to get a grip of) and porridge fingers, like turtle said. They're still number one on the breakfast menu! Also things that break apart easily in his mouth, now G is quite happy to chew on a bit of satsuma for half an hour (not an exaggeration) but at first he'd have got cross with it and spat it out. There's a load of recipes on here http://www.babyledweaning.com/ that are really good, the cheesey lentil wedges are a really good texture. Plus I found it helps to have a few things frozen to just microwave at lunchtime, so I give him one bit and if it goes down well zap another but if not I haven't wasted loads.
It's only in the last 2-3 weeks I've been happy enough with the amount of solids he's eating to reduce night feeds. I do a similar thing to turtle - before 2 and he gets dummy/water, first feed after 2am he gets milk then dummy/water until 7am. I get that it is sending him mixed signals to a point, he doesn't understand the difference between 1am and 2am but I had to draw the line somewhere. And it's going ok so far, he wakes three times, gets milk once and he's getting better at settling himself. All this has coincided with him starting to crawl and pull himself up so I think a lot of it is down to him burning calories by being on the go all day.
Anyway, hope that's useful, the forum on babyledweaning.com is pretty good too although I'm more of a lurker.Newborn thread member

I've got 9 HIPP vouchers that I won't be using if anyone wants them? Valid until 30th June, they don't have my name on them and they can be used in any shop.
Things like 35p off a savoury pouch, 30p off finger food, 40p off any HIPP product etc. And a free stage 2 jar.
If anyone wants them, PM me your address and I'll pop them in the post0 -
I do. Bottles and teats, opened them to sterilize but never used, the midwife said I should use normal ones when I was trying to make her put on weight. I had packed them "for next child" but I can buy new ones when that happens. You can pick them up at any time. I live around mediacity. Also have milk storage bags.0

Love the picture Nutella :j they find fun in the stupid little things, or the cupboard under the sink  if you're my child but no interest in toys drives me bonkers.
Evening allWhat is everyone doing tonight? My OH is at work, baby is in bed, stuck my nappy wash on, and gave everywhere a quick tidy around, and now I have 'What to expect when you're expecting' to watch with coffee and a Malteaster Bunny! Feel so sleepy tonight and have no idea why as we all slept until 9.30 this morning  The more sleep you get....

Hello all
Well...my baby is in hospital. We were admitted first thing as he wasnt breathing properly. He has had xrays and bloods and has an infection somewhere. He is hooked up to a drip, IV and oxygen tubes in his nose. He looks so so poorly. His oxygen keeps dropping and setting his machine off and he keeps tugging all his tubes. I keep crying everytime I look at him.
They think we will be in for the weekend and maybe into next weekwhere is my happy baby.
