I put at first one of my used pillowcases as cover for the moses basket. Then also a t-shirt. In our case, she would wake up when I put her on the moses because she was still hungry. According to mw, she was ok when on us because she knew the food was close (I was BF), but when on the cot she felt completely away. Sure enough, she started to be ok with the moses once she started to be full. But your case might be different, I second warming up the bedding and put clothing that smell of you. Mw told us that sometimes mum's smell might trigger a cry for food if your lo can smell you and the breastmilk, if so, maybe daddy's smell is better. We started with that and keeping a hand on her belly the first five minutes, leaning over and talking soothingly, etcQuit smoking *1st January 2010*

We finally registered the birth today!! We had decided Victoria as first name, but had not made up our minds about the second name. At the end, we decided it right before and went for Emma, which is a name I dreamt about years ago, when I dreamt I was pregnant and my bump was telling me her name!!. Both names are spelt and pronounced the same way in Spanish, which was important for me. We were considering to add my surname as second name, to make it similar to Spanish tradition, where your baby would have two surnames, one for each of you, but at the end I decided that she can do that if she wants when she's older, and add my surname if she wants to highlight her roots. I think if she ever gets a Spanish passport she will have to add my surname anyway, by law you have to have your dad's first surname and your mum's first surname, never to be changed (we cannot take husband 's surname).Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

Congrats marta that's a lovely name!
Gilly thanks for that about the sleeping bag. Funny I posted that I'd be too worried to sleep because little miss decided staying awake is way more fun at night!
She seems comfy in her sleeping bag and it solves the issue of cold cot! Perhaps A sleeping bag might be an idea for you Aida? I can't cope that my little person is almost a month either! I too couldn't stop thinking Bout more babies and I miss being pregnant also !! we struggle with the cot at night she loves being on her front too. Keeping her bundled up and warm during a feed and then putting her down very slowly when sleepy seems to work also keeping my hand on her dummy for a few mins or hand on her tummy and singing the same lullaby !each night so she associated that with nightime has started to work - not foolproof though ad per tonight where she just thrashed about for three hours!

Morning all
Hope your nights were better than ours... She was really unsettled, not sure why, kept waking up crying so could have been nightmares. In the end I put her in bed with me, she slept for an hour and was then awake from midnight until 3.30 just rolling about, attempting to crawl and generally having no intention of sleeping. By that point she'd been awake for so long she demanded milk, which she was given despite us having stopped night feeds several weeks ago... LO 1 - mum & dad 0. She fell asleep again at 4-ish and woke up for the day at 6.30. Yawn!0 -
Morning all, will try and remember some points.
9 month check, don't get them here or if you do Iv not heard about them. I've not been near the place since his 16 week injections though and they don't contact me so go figure  think with it being the city they are so stretched, that people just get missed out. I'm not really concerned though as he's walking, touching all manner of things he shouldn't be, babbling away to himself most days and likes to sleep a lot. We are still waiting on an appointment for the dietician thoughI'm so worried his molars are gonna come in and crumble or something because he isn't getting enough calcium! Hopefully something will come in soon as I was referred weeks ago.
Warm rooms/sleeping bags etc, A loves it being warm, probably too warm in the experts opinion but it's just how he is, I love a toasty room and being under the duvet too. I think all babies are different and as long as you keep an eye on there temp etc go with it. If you are concerned maybe a long sleeved vest under the sleeping bag rather than vest and sleepsuit or whatever
Vacuumed packed mounds of clothes the other day, they all looked tiny, they don't feel tiny at the time and I think when it's your own baba them growing just sort of creeps up on you. Some days I look round and think he looks massive, when he is relatively small for his age. They just change from having a baby face into a child face I think, hard to explain
Hugs for all those having bad nights, sadly it's still fresh in my mind but it does get easier, when A was a newborn he was the worst sleeper, if I got 2 hours in a row I felt on top of the world, but now he loves to sleep, in fact he's still sleeping now, dead to the world too, snoring his head off and his little bum in the air. So there is light at the end of the tunnelThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -

We're in a 22 degree house Moneypenny and A is ina 2.5 tog sleeping bag, he only has 2.5 tog. He wears them all year round
We have a lot of 2.5 tog bags (hand-me-downs and I think it was that time of year when the original owner was born) - I use a 1.0 tog for her daytime naps and 2.5 tog the rest of the time at this time of year - unless it's going to be bitterly cold in which case I'll put her in a fleece sleepsuit and a 1 tog bag mainly to contain the cot-partying legs everywhere.
Having said that - I was naughty last night - had another panic attack and ended up sobbing my eyes out (usual stuff for me - fear SS will come back at us after this next one's birth and take her away after what the hospital did last time) and couldn't get myself settled so brought her in with us for cuddles all night for my OWN sanity. Funnily she ended up with about 7/8 of the bed and looked very pleased with herself (as usual)Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
Katie, with hindsight... are you sure he's not just practising the Labrinth dance moves that mummy taught him all those weeks ago when he wouldn't eat his dinner?!....
:rotfl: ha you could be right! He may have been exposed to my terrible labyrinth moves again last week when he was so upset with teething. Got a smile back on his face so was worth it! Just have to make sure the blinds are closed first...
Sorry you had a bad night, could it be teeth that are upsetting her?
We had a bad one too - I'm only feeding once per night now, and only if its 2am or later - last night he woke up at 11.30 and wouldn't settle til almost 2 when I gave in and fed him. He tried standing up in his sleeping bag for the first time - nearly gave me a heart attack watching him lurch around with his feet all caught up. Turned into a 'fun' game of "George stand up then mum comes in and lies me down again". Think I might have to leave him out of the bag tonight, atleast then when he stands up he has a modicum of balance. Have just lowered the cot again too, on its lowest setting now!
Can hear the little monkey rattling the bars again. Argh!Newborn thread member
