  • Hello, just saying hi but am more of a lurker! Bertie was born on boxing day and loves to eat... Not so keen on night time sleeping though so have been reading your posts with great interest!

Is also interesting reading about sleep training and weaning, ideas for the future!

Made an appointment for half 9 in the morning. Woman on the phone didn't have a clue what I was on about when I asked about the Child Benefit form ><

Blimey! Our local registry office (well the one that ain't been closed for about 15 months) has about a two week wait for appointments to register births!

Lol! Must be lucky :) plus I think it's only for the local hospital with only has a birth centre... they may get 4 births on a busy day.

Should I be trying to make the most of the time when Dewi is awake.

He's fed and clean, but wide awake. Is there anything he can "play" with at this age?

He had a good stare at my face and was tracking my phone with his eyes and head.

IMO, you can't start singing to them early enough. Repeated little rhymes are nice because they latch onto repitition. My favourite thing to do is sing about what I'm doing. I've got songs for dressing, songs for bathing, songs for when booby's on its way, songs for soothing, songs for my chores, songs for when daddy's coming home. You name it, I sing about it. Freddie loves it. That's unconditional love for you. Poor sod can't help it :D

Actually why do I bother buying toys when she's spent the last 20 minutes trying to alternately eat and garotte me with the hood cord of the fleece top I've put on cos it's cold here. Amateur mummy murder techniques are so much more entertaining apparently (cord's knotted at both ends so she can't pull it out - can just strangle me instead).

Totally agree. Freddie's favourite toys are mummy's bracelet (try to yank off wrist and eat) and mummy's newspaper (try to rip up and eat). Not that I read newspapers often - Sunday's doesn't get round to being read until about Tuesday :D

Noah was trying to pull himself up on his cot after his bath and slipped, he bit his lip and there was blood everywhere. He was so upset the poor little mite.
