Just catching up and you ladies made me giggle out loud with your smear convo! Didnt even try to explain to OH what was so funny :rotfl:

Hope Noah's feeling better now sammie? G has been in the wars today too - got his first bruise on his head when he went face first into the door frame, over backwards atleast twice and then stood up in the bath which ended in him toppling over too! Good job he doesn't seem to bruise easily or ss would be all over me! I'd like to think tomorrow he might take a bit more care when he's hurling himself around but knowing my boy it'll be more of the same

Oh no katiechoc poor George. We have laminate flooring through out our downstairs so I'm expecting Noah to have lots of bumps and bruises from slipping everywhere! X

Blimey! Our local registry office (well the one that ain't been closed for about 15 months) has about a two week wait for appointments to register births!

Five weeks here - she was born on 11th May, I called on 15th May and we got the first available appointment: 18th June!

OH looks at me weird when I start giggling like a mad woman XD

Not looking forward to bumps and bruises >< though I think the trick is not to make a big deal out of it?

They've changed the age for first smears. I had my first one at 16 (horrible doctor wouldn't prescribe me the pill unless I had one) and every three years since then (I'm 34 now so that's 7) plus sometimes I've had to go back for an additional one because they didn't get enough cells the first time. I always dread going but it's never that bad really and it's got to be done hasn't it?

Ok random Q.. Do you have to de-bogey a babies nose? Little miss has loads of bogeys today, will they come out by themselves or is there something I need to do? Hope it's not a sign of a cold!!

If they affect her breathing, I'd try to remove them, using saline drops if they're dry or with one of those nasal aspirator things if they're, uhm, moist (the things we talk about on here!). If they don't seem to bother her I'd leave them - they will come out by themselves when they feel ready :D
  • lol at the smear talk! I had to go back into hospital after having the baby and had to have a speculum and swabs and didn't bat an eyelid whereas usually I'd be dreading it and counting the days until a smear test nervously :rotfl: My midwife suggested having one 12 weeks after the birth as well I'm not sure why so I've got that to look forward to  - definitely left all of my dignity at the door in labour ward, god knows what was going on after the c-section when they were cleaning me up - they literally could have done anything to me and I wouldn't have had a clue so I just figure it can't be worse than lying there starkers covered in god knows what under bright lights and surrounded by about 12 people :rotfl:

Little'un hasn't been feeding too well today, she has been quite snoozy, a bit snotty as I mentioned (thanks for the tip on how to de-bogey marta) and then got a gooey eye. Had to strip her to her vest to make her feed properly as she kept dozing off....I've noticed a few times when she gets warm she goes into a deep sleep (tip for the night sleeps?!) and its hard to rouse her, stripping her to her vest always seems to work though. I do wonder if she isn't warm enough in the night, her face and hands are always cool in the mornings but her body is always warm enough - she has 4 layers of cellular blanket plus her vest and sleepsuit - she is rubbish at keeping the layers over her though and often wakes up with them round her waist. I'm wary of overheating her in the night by adding any more layers but I do wonder if that is why she might be restless after a night feed? Don't know what to do for the best.

Yeah that's what we're trying to do, if it wasn't a massive crash and there's no obvious injuries I tend to tickle his tummy and giggle at him, if no giggles after a little bit then cuddles. Theres a mum at baby group who insists on getting the slightest little thing put in the accident book and cold compresses being dished out. Honestly, the compress causes more upset than the "accident"!

Ha that makes me sound really mean! Oh well ;)

Poor Noah and George - hope they're OK :(

My LO got stuck under the sofa today. She could easily have pulled herself back out, but she refused to let go of the phone cable she'd just found and was just lying there grumbling! :o
