Yes it is razor sharp Ro - I'm sure she will have great fun trying to bite me, feeling a little bit worried about breastfeeding her tonight now!!
What do you ladies do about brushing teeth, just morning and night? What toothpaste do you use? Obviously they can't spit so they will swallow some toothpaste, not much you can do about that I suppose!
How lovely for Scott opening his first ever present, Poppy opened her first ever present on her Birthday and I can honestly say she was more interested in the paper!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

We are using the aqua fresh milk teeth one, I do morning and night and the tiniest amount. I use one of these toothbrushes as easy to hold http://www.chemist-4-u.com/Wisdom-Kids-Step-by-Step-Toothbrush-0-2-Years.html and yes can't stop them swallowing the toothpaste or biting the toothbrush lol !
Scott loved the paper too !
Got to wrap his big car soon it could require a bit of tape!!! :eek:0 -

Re: BF and biting with teeth. To be fair to Jake he had a little spate of biting me when his first teeth came through but they soon learn its not on if you shout and refuse them the boob for a few minutes. I was more worried about when he got his upper incisors because its like a proper bite then but since they came through I think he's bitten me once; he copied my "OUCH!!" laughed and hasn't done it since. It can be a little uncomfortable if you dont get the angle right when latching but its not like they do it on purpose so you either ignore it or take them off and relatch them where its a little more comfy.:A:A:A:A:A:A0

Hi sorry to crash the thread without a proper introduction! Just wondered if newborns are safe to sleep with a dummy? Our newborn baba can't seem to settle at night and just given her a dummy which she is loving. Do we take it out once she is settled? Sorry to sound thick!!
Merry Christmas one & all - our baby is the best present we can ever get for Christmas
Hope to post here more soonxxx

I have no clue on the dummy question, I have one "just in case" but we haven't had any need yet.
I collected the domperidonetoday, apparently my other medication could have had a negative effect in the production of milk. I cannot really stop it, though, so I'll have to just have both things and hope for the best.
My LO had very bad reflux in a few occasions, last evening the poor one was throwing back up her milk through both her mouth and her nose!I can't find any advice, the GP said there's Gaviscon for babies, but he has to see her first, so we might make an appointment after the bank holidays. I'm trying to keep her upright as much as we can, and we have decided to go back to number one teats. I think number two forced her too much, granted she needs the extra food to put on weight, but if she's drinking three ounces and throwing one, it might be better for her to drink.two instead and not to throw up . I still don't know if the change of bottles will help,.this one is the second feed with them, but she seems calmer and she eats with less desperation, I guess it's because she can actually rest and breathe with the nnumber one, with number two she had constant drops. Any tips for reflux, or is it something you just have to live with?
I bought an abdominal support wrap today, I keep getting a sharp pain above the belly button to the right side. I thought it was the uterus shrinking back, but the midwife said it is a ligament ad my uterus.is way below the belly button now. I'm concerned I'm pulling.it.and I heard you can get a hernia if you are not careful. I think it will do me good for back.support as well. I bought it from a medical compression company in London, I should receive it on Thursday, I cannot wait, I feel very very uncomfortable at the moment, I keep using some of the belly bands from pregnancy but they are not good enough, so I end up holding the belly with my hands when I walk!!! Lol Has any of you experience a similar issue? I had no support before , I must admit, so now it's just more noticeable.
Just in case I cannot log in during the day tomorrow : Merry Christmas to all of you! I hope you have a great day!!!Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

Merry Christmas all :xmassign:
Only quick post
Marta - mine did not have reflux but I know that raising the cot/basket/matress head end may help. Keeping them more upright after a feed for a bit ie don't put them straight down. I think there are various meds but think they try gaviscon first . I would do what your doing in adjusting bottles as after all you are having to give a lot of milk (I found that stressful with Scott too).
Don't know about the abdominal thing sorry.
Moneypenny21- congrats ! Not sure about the dummy did not use x0 -

Hello and congratulations - that's indeed a good xmas present!
There are no silly questions round here and everyone's really friendly and helpful, so do ask away and I'm sure someone will be able to adviseNot sure what the official advice is re. dummies, but we let our little girl sleep with one from birth. It would normally fall out at some point during the night, but we never removed it and I don't think it matters whether you do or not. We only use it for sleeping/settling though - I don't want her to get used to having it all the time for no 'reason' iyswim.
Edited to add: beware though that dummies do create dependency - my LO no longer demands milk at night (she's 7 and a half months), but I normally have to get up a few times anyway to put the dummy back in. It always falls out whilst she sleeps, and at some point she'll wake up and want it back. I don't regret our dummy decision though - I think they're fab0
