    Evening all :)

Sammie, yay for crawling! And such a cute pic :) Make sure you share a pic of Noah in his elf babygrow too!

    SavageHK, big congratulations!

Katie, LO's cold is definitely better thanks - she still coughs a bit, but much less than she has been, and she slept much better last night. No tears - a couple of dummy wake-ups, but nothing prolonged, which was such a relief after more than a week of her crying for ages in the middle of the night. She did wake up at 4.30 this morning though, all smiles... good thing she's so cute or she'd be in trouble! :o I think she did it on purpose so I'd be tired and we could have a cuddly afternoon nap together on the big bed :)

Turtle, that's great re. sleep - fab when you find something that works for you. Hope you have another good night tonight :)

Good day here - didn't do much, just lots of playing and cuddling - she's so much fun at the moment :D We're at my parents' and she's enjoying some of the toys that I had as a child - along with lots and lots of attention from her doting grandparents of course!
  • Glad the cold is on its way Nutella. It is a really good stage at the moment isn't it, everything's a game to them! Even trying to pull the flipping Christmas tree down! He had a go at the clothes airer earlier too, little monkey.

OH and I just watched Home Alone, awesome film! Starting to feel a bit Christmassy now. Got one more thing to get and my shopping is done! Not even started the wrapping yet though, that's my mission for tomorrow.

    Night all x

  • Hello ladies

Such a busy night, I have just sat down!! Been wrapping presents, my auntie came round for xmas drinks, tidying the house etc...just caught up on my work emails and I hate working at home when I shouldn't. I really need to keep on top of things I think.

Hope everyone is well, I have read back but cannot remember everything!

Aiden is loads better now. No more bad nappies! *touch wood* His super lovely doctor even rang us tonight to check how he was. I seriously think I am obsessed with how nice his doctor is, I keep on saying to OH how nice he is!!

Just going through our accounts at the mo working out when we need to pay things as I get paid tomorow and then that is it until end of jan for me:eek:
    Sammie, lovely pic btw!

Ill try and post again before I go to bed xx

Hi!!! I guess I'm a recent addition to the thread, my little baby girl was born on the 13th at 7am and 6.13lb. Unfortunately, I've been having problems breastfeeding, the midwife said I am not producing enough quick enough, so I have Been "snack feeding" my baby wirhiut knowing, by feeding her little feeds every hour or almost continuously for hours. They weighted her yesterday and apparently she's lost 14% of weight, so we've been put on formula and bf. However, no matter how many times I tried to give her the breast after that first bottle, she's just.not interested. She knows my breast means some work and maybe empty cheeks anyway, so.she's just ignoring them :(
I just feel something has been taken away from me, despite being good she's now feeding and having seen the difference in behaviour. I felt really bad, I know I should not feel guilty, but thinking I've been depriving her of food without knowing, makes me sad and emotional. Anyone using formula here??

    Morning all :)

So, yesterday LO woke up for the day at 4.30, so last night I put her to bed an hour later than normal hoping that she might sleep a bit longer. The result? Wide awake and wanting to play at... wait for it... 4.15! I can just about cope with the early wake-ups at the moment as I can have afternoon naps, but I really hope things change before I go back to work :o She's now on her first nap of the day...

Katie, sounds like George is enjoying exploring! Lots of it here too, it really is a good age.

Sunshine, so glad Aiden is better, and yay for the lovely doctor :)

Buying the last xmas present today, everything else is bought and wrapped and ready for the big day.

Have a good day all x

Big congratulations and welcome to the thread!

Breastfeeding can be so hard, many of us here struggled and many of us gave up. I lasted for about three weeks, and even then it was more formula than breast. Please please don't feel guilty or think that you have been depriving her of food - you are doing your very best for her. If BF is important to you, you could try expressing - this should hopefully increase your supply as well as provide her with breastmilk. Keep offering her the breast though, and she may well start wanting it. If in the end BF doesn't work out for you, don't feel guilty - BF is so heavily promoted, but the fact of the matter is that it's difficult, and lots and lots of mothers end up giving their babies formula. I know this is easier said than done - I cried for days when BF didn't work out for me, and I felt incredibly guilty, but my little girl is now 7 months and she's happy and healthy and thriving on formula. Sending you a big ((hug)) and wishing you all the best - please do stick around and chat; this thread is really friendly and supportive and between us we've probably dealt with most things and come through the other end :)

Morning Nutella, wow early start for you! We were up 4.30-6 but he got himself back off for nearly an hour. Would probably have stayed asleep except for oh having to get his work stuff out of G's room - will make sure he gets what he needs before bedtime tonight. But the main thing is he did put himself back to sleep :T that's a first for during the night. And he went from bedtime (7) til 2 with only one dummy incident! I feel almost human for the first time in weeks! Hope you can get a decent nap today to make up.

Welcome martafdz, congratulations! Not much more to add to what Nutella said really but please please please don't beat yourself up over bfing. It is sooo much harder than they make out in the antenatal bumph they give you. You could try your local sure start centre as I think a lot of them host breast feeding cafes regularly, with experts there to help with latching etc. but please do stay and chat!
