  • Hi ladies

Welcome back dizzi :) glad the pregnancy is going well hun.

Hope everyone is ok. Just wrapped up Aidens presents. Have put them in the study room for now. We are going to take him to see Santa on Sunday :j my friend at work took her LO last week and said there are live reindeer on the trail to the grotto, and a little area with rabbits and guinea pigs in, in the actual garden centre. Aiden loves anything that moves so think he will like it lol.

I am off to bed I think, getting my hair done in the morning so need to be up and out early. I'll read back before I go to sleep x

    Morning all :)

Hope everyone's well and had a good night - we've been up since 5.45, but with the exception of LO being a bit unsettled for half an hour or so around 2am, she slept pretty well so I can't complain. It's been two weeks since she last had milk during the night, so I hope that's it now :)

It's official: I'm no longer scared of finger foods! :jShe finally had some toast this morning, previously my biggest fear. I didn't panic, she didn't choke and all was well. She transformed it into an unrecognisable soggy lump that she couldn't possibly have choked on even if she'd tried :D

Have a good day all x

nutella well done on braving the finger food! :D

We are fully cosleeping (all night) here at the mo, because our new house is bloody freezing. In the first 20 days here we spend £120 on gas, eeeek! And it didn't even feel warm :( until we find a solution to keep Reuben warm somehow, he's in with us.

As always, mixed feelings about this. I think he should be in his own cot (except not when the room is flippin 9 degrees of course!) But i sleep sooooooo much better when he's in the bed, so i feel great today!

I can feel a sharp bit in Reuben's gums, front bottom...eek! nothing visible though. Mind you he's had a sharp bit at the back for about 6 weeks so maybe I shouldn't be getting excited just yet lol

    Morning :)

Yay to the finger foods Nutella! We've got some of the infamous carrot sticks to try today, we're going out too so hopefully they'll keep him occupied while we have dinner somewhere.

Bad night again for us, fed him at 11.30, 1.30, 3.30, 5.30 and he was up from not long after 6. Barely ate anything though so tonight if he's up soon after being fed he's going to have to cry for a few minutes and see if he goes off on his own, the neighbours will have to suck it up for a couple of nights. At the end off my tether, can you tell?!

Just ordered the britax seat :D got it from amazon in the end, sign up for a free trial of the new family thing and you get £10 off a £50 send so got it for £80. Should be here on Monday!

    Afternoon ladies,

Katiechoc - just thinking about how many times in the night George woke up makes me feel tired! Poor you. :( great bargain on the car seat though. :)

Sunshine - hope you like your new hair cut. :D

I was planning on taking the kids swimming today but Noah was coughing most of the night so I think I have given him my cold. :(
DP is working again today, that's 21 days In a row now. :( he's tired from working constantly, I'm tired from looking after the kids on my own constantly but he keeps telling me it people be worth it when we have all the extra money.

Ordered my food shopping to be delivered tomorrow morning so in going to cook a roast for dinner tomorrow. Will probably stay in the warm today so Noah can stay warm.
    Xx

Sammie, poor Noah - and your DP - and you! How are your rules working now - are the boys still following them?

Katie, your feeding schedule sounds exhausting :( Hope tonight is better - and that he likes the carrot sticks! I'm sure the neighbours will cope - we live in a flat too, and I'm sure they could hear LO crying when we stopped the night feeds, but it was worth it - for us anyway... :o

Turtle, boo to a cold house :( Could you you get Reuben one of those warm fleece sleeping 'bags' with arms - I think they're called snugglers? I know what you mean re. co-sleeping though - both LO and I sleep better when we do co-sleep, but I try to avoid it as she needs to learn to sleep in her own cot. But if it were 9 degrees I'd do what you're doing!

I received a 500ml bottle of baby bath stuff from Tesco today - apparently I signed up to be a tester a few months ago! I'd forgotten all about it, but I do love a freebie :D Their letter made me laugh though - it says 'you've been selected to test bath wash (...). In this package you will find wipes to test (...) Once you've finished testing the nappies, please complete the survey'. Ahem, if you're going to use standard letters, remember to change a few words here and there! :rotfl:

Afternoon, I seem to read and forget to comment a lot here. I do read it all though :D honest.

Katie, I dunno how you cope with those wake ups :( I suppose you just have to but you must be exhausted and running on caffeine. I think you mentioned french toast (I hope it was you! :o ) But yeah we love it here, he has it once or twice a week for his lunch, he had it today actually. He loves anything eggy, scrambled eggs and omelette are other favourites.

    Sammie

That's a lot of days in a row :( Poor OH and poor you. My OH done 9 days in a row recently and I was floored at the end of it, with 1 baby, you must be exhausted too. Hopefully you can all go and do something nice as a family with the extra cash xx P.s Hope Noah feels better soon.

Ladies worrying about neighbours etc, I wouldn't, most people are well asleep by that time at night, and it's just one of those things, I lived in a flat that wasn't soundproofed in the slighest (think house that had been split into flats but not insulated in any way) and I'm pretty sure they used to think I was torturing my baby on a daily basis, because he used to scream so much :o

Afm, not a lot going on here, went out and bought the rest of my Christmas presents yesterday and wrapped them all up last night, just got OH's stuff to do now, which won't take long as I don't stick bows or ribbons on his. We stopped by Chiquitos for lunch and I was surprised by how quiet it was, had tortilla pizza, it was delicious. Not done much today as Belfast isn't a nice place to be at the moment really and we live in the city center so we're staying in nice and cosy, A and I have watched Glee this afternoon and he's just had his dinner he's in his cot having a little nap before supper and bath time, he looked so sleepy bless him, usually I wouldn't let him sleep but he's been waking up in the morning with major bags under his eyes, this from the boy who sleeps 13 hours a night

We've cut down to 2 bottles a day now, he was showing no signs of giving any up, but I think he was drinking the 3 out of habit and was impacting on solids he'd eat, so we've stopped his morning bottle for around 6 days now, and he's neither up nor down with it, and doesn't even seem like he has realised he doesn't get it anymore. He doesn't ever seem to wake up hungry though but I think that's because playing is more interesting than eating.

Going to watch X Factor tonight, not sure what I'll watch on a Saturday night when it's done. Does anyone else watch it? I like James the best but don't mind if Jahmene wins, do not like Christopher and really hope he doesn't win.

Wow, what a long comment :o

My LO has developed a novel approach to getting finger foods into her mouth. When faced with sweet potato chunks/sticks this afternoon, she mashed them up with her hand, spread the mush all over the table, then proceeded to suck it into her mouth like a human hoover :)
