So things are sent to test us - well they do in this household anyway :rotfl:
DH off sick possible long term and cold potentially mean an operation, but although staying positive with him I am not so positive really - I know we will cope as we will have to, but it just again brings home how silly we have been with money that was never ours..
I had some good news earlier in the week - a savings plan i had been paying into and expected a small payout in December, is infact nearly three times the amount I was expecting. This means that I can pay off our loan ( not in the main figures here) but frees up £440 pm yes I did say £440.00..Well I can pay off our loan if I can make another £1000 by then. Which I plan to but then DH gets ill, he does get paid but as his job is commission mainly - he did get a bonus this quarter which we have saved. This is being used to clear remainder of his bike payment ( finance) once it sells..hopefully collected this weekend. Again another £180pm cleared and I should be very happy, well I am but I want to use it on the loan too:rotfl: I know I cant have it all ways..but freeing up that amount of money if he is off long term sick is massive - but then so is clearing the finance which we must do I know.I am just feeling a bit  about it all.Anyway sure it will work itself out in the end..but for now I need to sort my head out and work out how we will cope if the worst happens..
Anyway hope everyone is well and have a good day XX

  • Poor Mr Aamberle, I hope he's ok and doesn't have to have an op. I'm sure he feels awful about being off too knowing the situation.

That's great news on the savings though, what an amazing amount to free up every month!

Stay positive lovely, you're doing great

Hi All - so Mr A has an appointment next week with a surgeon..so we will see then how serious it will become. I think he secretly enjoys being waited on hand on foot, and an excuse for not tidying up and doing any housework:rotfl::rotfl: But I know he does not like the reason why..:D.
Anyway news of the weekend - well i brought a chest freezer, I know i know but it only cost me £50 and i used savings for it - and as i am planning to do more and more batch cooking it should pay for itself quite quickly.I really need to lose some weight and as my work seems to be crazy hours, I thought if I batch and freeze - there will always be something I can eat rather than nothing or a takeout..so the weekend I will be setting it all up, and then will start looking for the deals and go from there..quite excited really..I really am getting very old, although i think the thought of doing soething about my weight probably scares me more than spending the money for the freezer:rotfl:
So listed a few things on my fave bay - and hopefully a few things going this week which will mean another payment at some point. Guy that was buying OH bike changed his mind  So we have had to start all over again - but still plan to clear the loan ASAP - so have some bits already towards the extra I need, probably about 40% there.. so need a good sales week over the next month or so and we are there..so thats my focus.Along with everything else:rotfl: Also brought some dare I say it..presents for that day in December that cost a fortune:T Am doing hampers again this year. they went doen really well with everyone last year - so doing that again this year..bargain of the weekend - was for £20.00 got 6 x boxes of Thorntons chocolates ( large ones) alrady wrapped and with bows - look so professonal I shall pretend I wrapped them obviously!! lol..
So thanks for all the comments guys, am off to catch up on you diaries

    Take Care xx

    Hi Aamberle

I have a chest freezer and I love it, so I'm sure you won't regret it, and £50 is a great price, the Thortons chocs sound like a great bargain too.
Shame about the bike, always annoying when people mess you around like that, but fingers crossed it sells again soon.
    Happy batch cooking :D

Hello all and welcome to Monday :j. So another busy weekend in the A household ( well for me anyway):rotfl:

So bike may have sold (for the 2nd time) - apparently being collected tomorrow but we shall see. OH has surgeon appointment this week - again once we have the news we can work on a plan.
Lovely his parents dropped in the see how he is doing ( have not left yet) and whilst I love having them - its blimming hard work having a housefull, a laid up OH and trying to MSE - But I managed a few sales and made another little payment this morning..:money: Although I was hoping to find a survey on sleeping - ohh somewhere quiet, warm and where I can get paid for sleeping without worrying about in laws, cooking, debt OH etc ..well a girl can dream :rotfl:

Anyway off to work now ( for a rest) ..catch up soon
