Time to address the finances...

Hi All, Hoping everyone had a great Christmas and are all prepared for NYE.
We are being very MSE ( or boring depending on which way you want to look at it ):rotfl: And not doing anything tomorrow - the last week or so have been a mad crazy time, so we are going to stay in, watch some movies and generally just spend some time together:D.
I have going through all yes ALL the finances today and think I will be ready ( mentally) to post up the full details. It does mean that the total will go up:eek: but it does then mean everything is on there which can only be a good thing right?? As i have eluded to before we have loans etc but I have nver included these in my running total - mainly because i do not think I would cope with the final figures..but we have been chipping away at them, and infact cleared one of them completely this year - 2 years ahead of the finish date :j so that was great and also giving us more free to focus on other stuff..My only thing I am waivering about including is the car finance as its a lease car and so will never be mine - but i am hoping to get a company car next year so that will go..but not sure if I should include it..I know about it but mentally the total will skyrocket and whilst I know its there, adding it to the total will be really very depressing..have thought about a new diary, but I like this one so don't want to change..sad i know :rotfl:.
Anyway wll think on it tomorrow, and see what NYD brings..

Happy New year to everyone - so in usual fashion, I have written below my round up of the year - it does not look so great, but is infact much better than we ever anticipated for this year, with all the drama we have had.
So we have..
Cleared a loan 3 years early.
Cleared a loan 2 years early
Moved all the remaining CC's to £0%
Doing it a little different this year, as I have been reading other diaries and think one debt at a time is still my way to go - so amending my signature to a whole total. It has increased but that is because it now includes other things I never included before - in truth mainly beacuse when i started this process - no one on here had the amout of debt we had! I was ashamed, scared I would be judged etc etc  Still am I suppose - but I will add a little more, into it - but I know in my heart of hearts that the overall debt is reducing well and so I will keep the level of information I am comfortable sharing, as I know my DH knows and we are both focussed on clearing it and that is what counts..
So as an overall we have 4 x CC's still to clear, x loans and 2 x retail finance type loans..if we can clear them then we are almost home free :rotfl:..
So roll oon 2014 because i am coming to get you ...
( Total based on last years payments we cleared over £10k).:j

Hi Aamberle
Happy new year
Well done for including all your debts, you shouldn't feel ashamed, it is so easy to get into debt, and by facing up to them you are taking ownership, and sorting a solution, that's a really postive and brave thing to do :T so you should be proud of yourself, and well done on paying of 10k last year that's an amazing amount, and at that rate you will soon be rid of them.

Morning All,
And so a little update from me. I have managed to do some jiggery pokery
and have managed I think by the end of the month to have at least one of the BNPL cleared and the other ( depending on DH bonus) nearly cleared. :j
I already have some money I could pay off chunks now, but as I have found there is an additional admin charge  every time I make an overpayment it can blinking wait until its all ready to go..lol.
So the sales of e have started again, and I am hoping to have both BNPL cleared by the end of the month, or as early in Feb as i can.. we will get this done!! CC's are still having minimums paid for the time being, as they are on 0% and I want to clear the BNPL first..so its all go and its only Wednesday :rotfl:
Catch up soon X2012 The year I started dealing with my debts.

So I have cleared a BNPL in full. It has gone to the BNPL park in the sky.:A.1 BNPL to go..Not bad for 10 days into 2014.
This year it is all about focus, and i want to clear the BNPL and ideally be in the low 20's for the CC's - clearly better if I can..
Catch you all soon :T2012 The year I started dealing with my debts.

Phew I knew this month was going to be a looooooong month between paydays, but I did not realise quite how long  I think I may have got a bit carried away at the beginning and paid a few too many payments than I should - I know its done now, but it really is to the point that I may not be able to put fuel in my car, which means I cant get to work. which means my CC may have to be used, not what I wanted to do..I actualy went over my OD today  not what I wanted, luckily only be a little bit, so transferred the few pounds from all i had left in my savings account so thats got me out of a hole today- but who knows if I can scrape through to next weekend..Ebay sales have been really slow - I have 1 item finishing today that has a bid on it - so that will be enough to cover a few pints of milk, so if I stay creative I may just make it - jeez I have not been this broke in about 2 years..I know its all in a good cause and my bills are going down but seriously I really need to relook at what I am doing, and not get carried away with the ..oh how exciting another bill gone:(..I know where I have gone wrong which I suppose is a bonus - too many overpayments and not enough money :rotfl:2012 The year I started dealing with my debts.

Well I made it through Monday on a NSD :j, so now into Tuesday..luckily not much traffic on the road on yesterdays commute so have enough fuel to cover today and possibly even tomorrow ( everything crossed
) Am working from home on Friday so if I can make it through until then its another week closer to payday..I hate wishing my life away buteach payday brings anoher payment closer to being DF..
The bad news of Monday is that DH will not be getting the bonus he was expecting -HR issued everyone the wrong figures last month, oh well these things happen..but he is getting something so that really is a bonus. We hoping there is enough that we can check my car in and get it fixed and I have enough to cover the excess which will be good..So not all bad I suppose.;)
In other DF news I am going to need to refocus on which debt next.it was going to be the BNPL - but after talking to them it would appear its a loan type deal and the payments stay the same until everything is paid and whilst it currently has the highest interest it is still my lowest payment out - its only the highest due to all CC's being on 0% so they all start to finish this year so will focus on one of them next I think that way when it finishes I can transfer a lower figure, and if I cant find a 0% the balance against the APR is lower..so will work that all out this week at some point..but at the moment it is getting through to payday..
Anyway am off to work now, have a good day x2012 The year I started dealing with my debts.

Hi Aamberle,
Shame about the bonus not being as much as you hoped, but as you say at least you get something, fingers crossed for it being another to fix your car
Sounds like you have made a good choice on the next debt to focus on, looking forward to hearing how it goes.

hi aamberle
what a good start to 2014 you've had
makes sense to focus on that debt next

Morning, so made it through Wednesday on an NSD - working crazy hours does have its benefits - means I dont/cant spend anything :rotfl: Anyway a little bit of light relief this morning, i had my expenses paid in ( i forgot they were due) so I now have enough to fill my car and carrying on being careful enough until pay day :j:j so paying the extras at the beginning of the month has worked out - just..so still the only way my CC's are going is downwards
.
In other news had another item sell that had bids on it and finishes later today - so currently at £4.00 so hopefuly a little more by the time it finishes,so that wil go straight to the CC when it's been paid..not much but as I know each payment however small does make a difference..
Anyway hope everyone is well, Have a good day X2012 The year I started dealing with my debts.
