Happy birthday Valentine,

Take care BBxxIf you don't have something nice to say don't bother saying anything at all.0 -
Penny pincher, you must be very relieved. Glad to hear your sister is on the mend.
Today has been a real depressing day. I am at the end of my tether with my bl**dy car.5 weeks,£850 quid and its still puffing out alot of white smoke. Ds has been very hyper today and i feel a failure with him.He has his check-up tomorrow at the hospital as he has mild perthes in his right hip. He said Bu**er in front of our maintenance officer today and then threw a tantrum and screamed when i removed him from the room, the poor man must have been shell shocked after leaving our house.I have just booked a small car to go to Birmingham to see my daughter /son-in law & 2 grandsons at the week-end, and now the confirmation letter is saying i will have to show a major credit card when i pick the vehicle up!! I dont have one. They were happy to take my inferior debit for payment!! Why is nothing straightforward? Sorry for the moan but i had to get it off my chest. Goodnight, i will try to be perkier in the morning.“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. Your really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.” Lucille Ball.0 -
Evening all
Just told my mum to go to bed so I can catch up with the daily thread
Had a loverly lunch with Bargain Rzl, Shez and Pen-en but rather disappointed that I didn't walk into a pub to see Colin Firth, a penguin and Piglet sitting there :rotfl: :rotfl: Only kidding ladies!
The lunch flew by and before I knew it I was on the train heading back to the South West. I had a flask of coffee ready prepared and with Pen-Pen's homemade cookies to keep me going I was a happy girl. They were so yum, thanks!
Feeling really tired now and have stacks loads of post here to go through. All very boring stuff really. Should do some work....but very tired and need to go to bed!
Quite an eventful day really, my first ever meet up of 'online' people in the real world!!!
Night all, off for a quick browse before bed (yes, my brother's)
MPxx
P.S. Happy birthday Valentine

I am a lucky man. Could have gone OS today, but GF said lets go to the indian. Had a great meal for four at £15 per head. OS ers, you need to do it once in a while. Just do a bit of research regarding decent restaurants.
I am off for a concert tomorrow (if the weather holds), and am doing OS on Friday.
Its a tricky balance, but I a m getting the hang of it."Don't critisise what people look like, how they speak, where they are from, and what they are called. They cannot help it.
Do critisise what they say, and what they do, especially if what they say is different to what they do. They can help that"

birthdays are great aren't they:j :j Just waiting for the snow to arrive now .have stuck the heating on to warm the house up as I'd been out for four hours, and it was freezing when I got home . Cheers everyone0 -
penny-pincher, glad your sis was pleased to see you. Its a long road to recovery, but she will get there.
Not snowing here, just very icy outside.
Got to tackle the weekend chores tomorrow night. As with having a house full of guests on fri-sun, they wont get done.
Ive saved £16 today by not taking my quilts to the laundrette, Ive washed them myself, and theyr'e now hanging over the staircase drying. Its usually £8 per double quilt. (pat on the pack for me!) Will have to take my kingsize though to the laundrette, as that wont fit in my WM.
Im off to bed now
Goodnight

Pat on the back from me too.
Jackie - think yourself lucky you are not celebrating your birthday down here. There was a restaurant (Italian) where the waiter would bring your desert brimming with sparklers and then all the staff including the guy who parked the cars would come over and sing Happy Birthday as off key as they could manage it. I have never felt so embarrassed in my life!Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Nice one Crazychik, I have given up trying to jam my kingsize in the washer and bought one for £9 (half price) in Tescos. It's actually cheaper than getting it cleaned locally. Always wash the little ones quilts myself now. Laudrette is soooo expensive! I usually find tumble drying them after air drying for a while makes sure not left damp in any way.
Think I will be off to bed soon, just looking for stuff on eBay for DP first. One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0
