  • Hi
More vdara advice please as I'm staying there in march.

Is it worth trying the $20 trick for an upgrade. We have the deluxe suite but really want a fountain view
Do you need to pay for a sun bed by the pool? Daft question but do you get changed by the pool or just go up in your cossie?
Can you use the spa for free without getting a treatment. Is there a sauna etc?
Any shops nearby for buying beers n snacks?

    Phew! Ta x
  • Another Vdara question!! I believe the 2nd bed in all rooms is a pull out?? Does it look comfy or would the one person (out of our party) who sleeps on it feel like they had the short straw??

this is what I was remembering, though a few years out of date, maybe worth emailing the hotels to see if they still do them?

I have received a reply from the Bellagio re 'room tours':

"We still offer our room/suite tour daily, except for Sunday’s at 2:00pm. This tour depends on availability of the hotel. During busy times when the hotel is at 100% occupancy we don’t offer room tours. "

    Sounds good.....;)

hey, i think people put too much into the '$20 trick'. you should just for an upgrade and say, do you have anything facing the fountains please?' and if it makes you feel easier have a $20 bill out or in view. don't try and be all sly with it. these people aren't stupid, they know what the score is. if they say yes, slip them $20 if you're happy with it. if they said, no can do, no harm done.
it can depend what time you arrive, if its a weekend, how long you're there for, how full the hotel is and if their supervisor is lurking nearby.

I am bit confused ! can you see the Bellagio fountains from Vdara, i assumed the cosmopolitan was in the way but I havent googled it.

It is worth trying for an upgrade if you know what type of room to ask for and having $20 in your hand can help.

Pools/sun beds are all free to guests and you will get a towel or 2 when you get to the pool, go to the pool dressed for the pool.

There are no free spas unless they are included in the resort fee.

Walgreens is across the strip from city center and there is an ABC store in Miracle mile in PH but even across the strip is a good walk.

The cosmo advertised a pull out sofa bed in the room I had there last year but on arrival there wasnt one.

I rang guest services and asked for a rollaway, they are very comfortable as they have a full thickness mattress on them, they told me it would be $30 a night but they never charged me for it

Has anyone had any packages delivered to hotels in Vegas?

Staying Orleans first then Mirage so would like to order a few items to be delivered straight to the Orleans for our arrival but could wait until we got the the Mirage if needed.

Jus wondering what costs are involved and how it works.

My friend did this last summer when we stayed at the Tropicana. He just contacted their customers services in advance to ask them if it was OK, they said yes. Then upon arrival he went to guest services and they dug out the packages for them and he just tipped a few bucks. Easy!

same here, got my wedding outfits delivered to cosmo, phoned them first to sort it out. They emailed me when it arrived, and as it had arrived before us was brought up to our room along with our bags and we tipped a couple extra bucks.

I'm pretty sure the Orleans charges to receive packages and hold them for guests (I know some hotels in Vegas definitely do and I'm sure I saw a notice up about charges in the business centre at the Orleans) so I'd drop an email to check,
