    Buffets.

Golden Nugget. You get what you pay for, but the slices of cheesecake (forget little pots, these were massive proper slices) were the best I have ever had.

Wynn. Well worth the money. The food and the service were both great.

Bellagio. We queue for a hour (4:30 to 5:30) the day before Thanksgiving, but it was worth it as the food was the best out of all the buffets. However, we were next to a little room that appeared to have a private birthday party in it, and our server seemed to spend all his time in there. This was the only time ever at a buffet that I have never left a tip. I felt a bit guilty, but at the same time it was that bad.

Mirage. We queue for half hour (4:30 to 5:00) on Thanksgiving. The butternut squash soup was so nice, but then for some reason I had 2 servings of fish and chips. Therefore, I cannot really comment as I did not really sample much, but the service here was the best of the week (I left my normal tip plus the tip I would have left in the Bellagio to erase any guilt).

    Shows.

Love. Really enjoyed it, and at $50 + tax a ticket it was well worth it. These were the cheapest seats, and we were right at the back, but the view was still more than fine. I think Ka is still my favourite.

Jubilee. Tickets were 2 for 1 (via a advert in a magazine that was in our hotel room). I would never pay full price for it, but it was a decent show. The topless element was pointless, and some of the sets look a little high school production, but viewing it from a ‘classic Las Vegas production’ it was well worth seeing.

i'll second this... i'm definitely not a shows/musicals/theatres kinda guy, but on our last trip thought we should see a show... and it was brilliant. it helps that i love my music, so the story was as much a history lesson if nothing else! and it sounds cliched, but you don't realise how many of the songs you actually know!
definitely recommend it if you feel you want to see a show, but are really not the show-type :)

We too are not 'show' people, but keep seeing at least 1 each trip. To me it seems part of the 'vegas experience'.

I think I am done with Cirque shows though, and I wish the fascination with them would disappear to allow a bit more variety.

We have not seen Jersey Boys, but I will make a note for our next trip (hate the way as soon as you get home you start planning the next trip).

The best show I have seen was Phantom Of The Opera, but then again I saw it on my wedding day so I have to stay that.

It didn't really take off in Vegas

    Neither did Spamalot
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
