VALUE FOR MONEYa consideration for those booking the Cosmo in 2013 - $25/day resort fee kicking in:
http://www.vegaschatter.com/story/2012/12/3/195253/438/vegas-travel/They+Said+It+Wouldn%27t+Be+Done%3A+Cosmo+To+Get+A+Resort+FeeRemember when The Cosmopolitan told us, upon its opening, that it would never enact a resort fee? Yeah, well, forget that.
Starting January 1, guests in search of the right amount of wrong will need to pay a $25 resort fee. The charge will include high-speed Internet (a once free amenity that Cosmo started charging guests $15/day for just over a year ago), unlimited local, toll free and domestic long distance calls, 24-hour fitness center access (currently incurring a fee of $28/day) and tennis court access (currently available to guests for $20/hour).
The $25 fee now puts Cosmo in line with the charges being asked for by Bellagio, Aria, MGM Grand and Wynn/Encore.
As mentioned, the fee will be implemented for any stays on or after January 1.0 -
Today there is a groundbreaking here for another water park in Vegas...well Henderson to be exact. It will be over on Galleria & Gibson...near to Sunset Mall. Cowabunga Bay is aiming to open Memorial Day weekend same as Wet n Wild. We go for 8 years without a water park and now we will have 2!!
I think there is another lady on here who visits Henderson regularly so may be of interest to her and some others....depending on where you stay when you visit. I'm just hoping local residents get a discount0 -
So i guess given Mem wkend is 24th-26th, its gonna be pretty busy everywhere in Vegas! Doh, trust me to pick that weekend to be there next year! doh!!!0

Thanks Dee! We used to live in Henderson & had some good friends there but they just moved back to MN
Hope to be back out soon though, I need some warm weather!

We normally use internet so normally if we're stuck with a resort fee we just accept it as it's not that much more than internet alone in most cases (except those cases where the good people of a Vegas message board might share the code with you and you get it for free...ahem)...but this will put me off a return visit I think...it's already so much more than we would normally pay to add another $25/night will just about cross it off the list for us.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
VALUE FOR MONEYThey are definitely out of our league now.
Tony was !!!!ed off with the resort fee ($6) at Orleans on a comped room. He would not be content with $25. I assume it would be plus tax too.0 -

Ditto.
I'm so glad we took the opportunity to stay there when we did as I loved it, but no way am I paying the rates they are now asking plus $25 on top.
It's one of the few hotels in Vegas that doesn't seem to have promo codes apart from the ones on their own site. The must be able to fill it without the need for promos.0 -
