Happy New Year when it comes! We're off to Vegas for our second trip in just over two weeks and can't wait! Has anyone hired a Dodge Charger before? We're hoping to fit four adults. I'm hoping it's big enough as we still want something that's a little bit cool!

Can i ask why your hiring a car? when i went we just walked everywhere... the traffic is always pretty horrendous too. Whilst the strip is pretty expansive the sidewalk escalators are pretty handy. Such a crazy place.

If you want to be confined to the strip ok, the freedom of being able to choose just going somewhere to eat let alone the touristy bit and shopping. I've found that I cover car hire costs from what I would have paid for taxis.

I am a non drinker and that does make a difference on what you do.

The thing with Vegas is people choose what they want, they pays their money etc.

    The other poster

A Dodge charger is plenty big for 4 adults, it's a bit wicked looking as well.

I keep asking my husband if he's interested every time this comes up on Groupon, but it sounds like you only get to drive one of the pieces of equipment, sounds like you don't get to try all of them? That's his reason for not being interested, at least...

I think thats right about only driving one but it is only £65 ish with the deal. I am still tempted but thats prob as far as it will go

We havent sorted our car for March yet and as there are only 2 of us for the first time we are thinking convertable (Mustang hopefully).

What is luggage space like without using the back seats.

We will have 2 medium size cases plus hand luggage. anyone know/think the 2 cases will fit in the boot

luggage space on the convertible Mustang is not much if you don't use the back seats...

We had 3 wheeled cases - one large one, two medium ones...plus our various carry on stuff...could fit the large case and carry on stuff in the boot...the 2 medium cases had to go on the back seat.

I don't think our 2 medium cases would have fit in the boot, but I can't put the frozen shopping in the freezer myself...I have asked my more spacially aware husband and he said:

maybe at a squeeze but really wouldve needed a shoehorn and a hefty boot slam

Agree with the others, while I know some do go and have a great time without a car, sticking close to the Strip...and others go without a car and venture further afield on public transport...I cannot imagine going to Vegas without a car...we would feel like we lost our freedom.

The only trip we didn't rent a car was our first in 2001...since then, we've had a car the duration.

I'm the only driver and not fussed if I drink or not...so that's not an issue for us.

As for traffic, sure, the Strip can be chaos in the evenings (otherwise it's fine, we think)...but surface roads are usually OK...

We do walk quite a lot of course...do occasionally take the SDX bus...and some days we don't get the car out of the garage/valet at all...but when the mood strikes us (which it does most day) we jump in the car and go where we want and we wouldn't have it any other way.

I wouldn't bother with a car for the full stay -I can't be bothered with the traffic and sitting in solid traffic is not my idea of a vacation. Plus unless someone in the party is teetotal someone misses out.

At most I'd tag a few middle days for things away from the Strip and just hire a car for those days-I don't like driving tired so I wouldn't need a car to get from the airport to my hotel -especially as taxis are reasonable for such a short trip. Coming back to the airport I wouldn't want to faff around returning a car I'd rather have an extra half an hour on the Strip then jump in a cab.Maybe I'd do more if I had a car sitting in the hotel lot -but I've honestly never missed one. Maybe if I was staying somewhere like the Orleans where parking is not only easy but close it'd be more viable -perhaps I should try it one trip.

Not great.....we had 2 medium to large size cases and hand luggage and we had to use the back seats.

I realise its recommended on the first page but just wondering what people think about about the MRB Booklet. Is it worth having and easy to use the vouchers?
