British Airways seem to only offer the free breakfast at Cosmo for stays of 2 nights or less? We wanted to stay 3 and it doesnt come up!

Well after contacting the new guy at the Platinum about Travel Zoo having an offer of $99 a night when he offered me $119 he got back and said that he did not know that the revenue dept. were going to run that offer, so he apologized and reduced my rate to $80 a night and upgrade to a Princess suite. I like him already, the queen is dead, long live the king.

Thats a wicked deal stoneman! Ive got a friday and sat night begining of June booked with him(was with claire originally) for same princess upgrade for $139, quite a bit more than yours but am still happy with it as it works out over $400 less than quoted standard rate on website!

Will keep eye out for any better offers like travelzoo for my dates altho i doubt there would be any as there is big music festival in vegas that weekend!!

Staying in Vdara, not been there before so any feedback would be good and if the $20 tip works in there for upgrades. Managed to get the room for £700 which we thought was a good deal compared to some of the other hotel prices we got quoted for?
    Cannot wait to go back

both times we have been we've stayed here... we've not tried the $20 tip, but I would be very surprised if it worked here - Vdara is more of a boutique-y type hotel and we found that just being smiley and friendly worked for us last time!

I guess it had helped that we had been before, as they said welcome back... we had emailed one of the managers beforehand asking for a room on a particular side of the hotel (so we got a different view from last time)... they commented on this at check-in and said they didn't have any of those for the room we'd booked, but upgraded us to a suite which was on the side of the hotel we had asked for.

i'd like to think politeness and appreciation go further there than cold hard cash!

I agree it can't hurt...we're always nice and friendly and chatty and have a $20 in our hand visible (not blatantly but they will see it)...and we ask about complimentary upgrades...I'm more comfortable with that than the 'sandwich' but that's just me.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
