This is Vegas we are talking about, I understand your point but cash is king!

    hehe very true :D
Vdara is quite different to the other hotels we've visited... you get the impression there that the staff aren't always hawking after a few bucks

Has anyone see the Groupon for the Spa at the Palms? I've never booked one before and am wondering if the $99 one is a good deal or not.

It certainly sounds good...doesn't seem to have the automatic gratuity some of the Palms Place Groupons have had (though tipping on the full price of the treatments would normally be appropriate). It's intriguing to me. :)

$99 for a customized spa day for one (up to a $225 value)
    • A choice of one of the following 50-minute treatments:
      • A Drift European-style massage (a $135 value)
      • A cleansing Drift facial with marine botanicals (a $135 value)
    • A choice of one of the following additional treatments:
      • A 25-minute glow body scrub with marine botanicals (a $90 value)
      • A 30-minute manicure (a $35 value)
      • A 50-minute pedicure (a $70 value)
    • Access to the spa and fitness center

It does say 20% gratuity to be added I'm sure I saw that.

Would it be worth checking we can get in before booking something like this?

think it says that for the $30 option...just re-read and you're right...I was reading the spa pass as the day-spa option..;.but it does say on the discounted price, which surprises me.
It couldn't hurt to check, but Vegas spas tend to be the sort of things people book on short notice - I've never had a problem getting an appt with a few days notice, though last few times I have booked a couple of weeks before just to be sure. Sometimes when you book on Groupon deals they want the Groupon number...but you could check if there's any issue with availability on your dates/times before buying.

And Groupon are really good about refunds - if you can't use it because of availability.

We got a refund on Heathrow Express tickets that we couldn't use soley because stupid me forgot they had to be purchased by a certain date (for later travel)...I emailed them saying 'totally user error, but...' and they replied almost straight away with a credit.

Dig This is on groupon for $99 (self drive Bulldozers, Excavators)

    http://www.groupon.com/deals/las-vegas-dig-this?c=button&utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&division=las-vegas&utm_campaign=las-vegas-dig-this&s=body&sid=11076820&p=1&date=20120117&utm_content=all-deals_las-vegas_getaways-hybrid&addxe=S09NRU5BQEFPTC5DT00=&user=21210a097c80ed6672d6090df2b824bdec4d271b421323259dd054030c8ccdc9

I am tempted at this price. I wasnt before when it was $400, although it now says this is a Mini dig!

Tripadvisor reviews are good, has any one on here tried it?

I keep asking my husband if he's interested every time this comes up on Groupon, but it sounds like you only get to drive one of the pieces of equipment, sounds like you don't get to try all of them? That's his reason for not being interested, at least...
