I don't have the 2 to compare but I wouldn't say my 3 takes anything like 8 hours to charge. I was very surprised how long it goes between charges too.

I was out and about in Bluewater the other week at a book signing and realised the charge was low and I'd forgotten my camera so nipped into the Apple store for a quick recharge ten minutes was more than enough for some photos and video. Win win book signing Dr Who freak son thought I was amazing to take him -and I quite enjoyed re-meeting the lovely Mr Barrowman myself ;)

How about Atlantic City. Casinos, beach and on East coast.
Atlantic City is probably a bit of a disappointment if you've been to Vegas.

Also, I think they want to go in March or April, which is unlikely to be warm that far up the East coast.

Depends what you go to Vegas for....as for weather SFO was another suggestion-same applies there.

I'm actually taking my first non US holiday in years next month -it's going to seem very strange ;)

For Ugg boots, I've seen it mentioned that they were available at the Miracle Mile and Fashion Show Mall.

As already mentioned, there are Converse outlets at both North and South Premium Outlets.

Ok so less than three weeks to go till our three night full on trip! I have a list of things I'm looking for:

    Ugg Boots
    Hunter Wellies
    Converses
    Poss iPad

Any info as to prices/best place to buy? And for the iPad is it worth it or stick to the UK? Are the outlets cheaper or not really?

I'm excited to share this knowledge with my husband as he REALLY loves shopping :rotfl: thanks in advance!

I bought Uggs in Nordstrom in Fashion Show Mall, they were cheaper but I forget as it was a while ago. They have Hunters too.

Firstly, thank you to everyone who contributes to this thread as it really is a great read, and I hope you do not mind me asking a couple of questions.

Been to Vegas 3 times, and stayed in MGM twice and Venetian once. The last time I was there was May last year, and since we were not going to go this year I have taken my eye of this thread (alot of catching up to do).

Anyway, my partner has had a rough couple of months and since flights in November with flythomascook were £460 each (with meals, luggage and seat selection ... although I did then book extra leg room and pushed the price up) we decided to book.

Compared to what we were thinking of doing our holiday budget is now being stretched (although we are buzzing to be going back to Vegas 17th - 24th November). At the minute no firm figure £ / $ as I need to work it out.

MGM we are more than happy with, but we could do with maybe finding somewhere a little cheaper. Therefore, I have a couple of questions ..

    1) Stratosphere. Is it a place you visit for a hour or 2, or worth staying for 1 night? Makes the Saturday we land a possibly cheaper night.
    2) Roughly how much would a taxi from the airport to the Stratosphere be?
    3) Monte Carlo seems nice to us (only seen the casino). Is it a place I should consider staying, is it a no no, or is there a better alternative for the money?
    4) Having stayed on the strip, should I look to somewhere like Carriage House or a alternative (needs to be pet free)?

    Cheers.

    2) fare finder estimates about $24
    3) we've not stayed there, but it's on our shortlist of places we'd definitely consider... you can get the free monorail to city centre / aria / bellagio, so it's well connected

if $$ is your main requirement, might be worth looking at Bills? I know of a few people who've found it perfectly adequate, and it's of course really well located. A Classic room is coming out at £260 for your week (on ebookers).

Palms or Tropicana should offer a good balance between value and quality?

Thanks Karen :-) ... I don't want to move away from the LV thread here, but in short just a week away at the end of March, somewhere with a bit of sun, relaxing, shopping, good food, easy to get around preferably no car, minimal transfer at the other end - well that's Vegas then!! If only it was on the east coast!

I'm pretty sure the Winter Music Conference is usally around the last week in march so it will be full of Electronic music artistes record execs etc and loads of parties(if thats your thing?) Prices may increase too?

    Cheers for the reply.

$ is not the main concern, but more a case of getting a good deal. Budget probably £400 (all taxes and resort fees) for the week would be perfect, but £500 at this moment would be fine / possible max.

I am more than prepared to move hotels. I am rubbish the day of landing so would consider staying somewhere cheap (almost like hotel and park) the 1st night, and then 3 nights some where and then 3 nights somewhere else if there was a deal to be had.

    1) Stratosphere. Is it a place you visit for a hour or 2, or worth staying for 1 night? Makes the Saturday we land a possibly cheaper night. The MGM is $204 for the Saturday night so I would certainly try for somewhere cheaper and the suggestion of Bill's is a good one. However remember to factor in the cost of a taxi between hotels when doing your figures.

    Bill's $84.95 for the Saturday.

    4) Having stayed on the strip, should I look to somewhere like Carriage House or a alternative (needs to be pet free)? Carriage House would be around $119 for the weekend and $99 for the rest and includes free internet and there are laundry facilities. Its a 5 min walk to the strip and you will get to the strip much quicker than if you stayed at the MGM.

    Cheers.

There is an offer from the MGM available to book until Wednesday. 3 of your nights are $56, unfortunately the Friday night is over $150. There is $75 dining credit with the offer. You could try making 2 bookings in separate names and ask for them to be linked at check in to try and get 2 lots of dining credit, but there is no guarantee that it will work as it's "per room, per stay".

Also remember to factor in the resort fee for MGM properties.

What about Bally's as they usually have good rates and a good location. In fact I have just checked and they have 3 of your nights at $15 for South Tower and $25 for North Tower. A total of $392 for the 7 nights and no resort fees.

Remember that the Thursday is Thanksgiving Day and the buffets and restaurants will be crazy busy so may be worth booking a restaurant for that night.

The upside is that the Black Friday sales start on the Friday, but the TC baggage allowance will restrict how much you can buy.
