depending on when you are going they have an offer on - starting at $50...we booked $50 seats as have seen it 2x before.

    the fees are silly though.

i think all casino's require max bet at the VP bar, but enforcing it is a different matter. it depends how busy it is, what type of bar(wo)man you get, how you're tipping and if you're taking the !!!! or not. someone can tell if you're playing r-e-a-l-l-y slowly, a nickel a go and trying to get the most expensive scotch while tipping a dollar a time.

No they don't all require max bets. And it is not only about how lenient they are, some don't require it at all. Remember that VP at a bartop is worse odds than most of the VP on the floor so they rake it in that way. I sometimes see people playing max credits on $1 machines and wonder where their brains are. They would get much better odds playing on the floor, and at $5 a hand would be better sitting in the high roller section where they would get better service.
BTW don't know about DT but on the strip you can't play a nickle a hand at a bartop, minimum is 25 cents.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Um, we're heading back...:j...but not until next year.

Commitments here have us tied up until end of this year so we've booked to include Super Bowl weekend staying 10 nights.

Almost fell off my chair when I saw that we have 5 nights comped at Paris for those dates,so we added another 5 in and the total came to less than $250 :D Mega amazed particularly as I don't really gamble at Cet properties.

Managed to bag some direct flights from Manchester with Virgin, £588 each so we're happy bunnies in the Triker household.

Hubby is already converting dollars to save up and I've booked the Scoot City deal on Groupon, and of course I'll be taking my Restuarant.com vouchers for another tour round, who knows I may even use one or two this time round :rotfl:

So planning is afoot and any good deals or offers I'll share if I see. ;)

Any tips for our stay at Paris?

really?! i was always told max credits and that some barman check (they can tell by the denominations) i've even heard some can disable anything but max bet if you're playing bar top?

i think people play max bet because (a) they think, like me, you need to play max bet in order to get served and (b) the paytable is better playing max bet. who wants to hit a royal playing 0.25c ?!

i look forward to next trip and watching some sport playing vp at the bar!

I've always used www.betterbidding.com and done a lot of research....blindman has a Priceline thread here on MSE.

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/233768

The main thing is you won't know exactly what hotel you will end up with until after your bid has been accepted...in some cases you may be able to narrow it down quite a lot and be pretty sure which hotel you will get if your bid is accepted but there's always a chance a new one will have cropped up...so important that you will be happy with anything that fits the criteria you've selected for the price you bid. You can narrow down the pool by limiting the area and star rating, etc...but there's always the potential for a surprise. :)

The only time I've ever messed up with priceline (I've used it all over the US and UK numerous times ) was in Las Vegas. I accidently clicked on North as well as South Strip-and ended up with the Riviera. It turned out relatively well as I liked the Old Vegas feel and when I checked in they upgraded me to a huge one bedroom suite with balcony (no tip-I was gobsmacked).Bit of a chilly walk to mid strip in December though (it was snowing as I left though the days before it was warm enough to sit on the balcony)

Max bet wasn't required at the MGM or Orleans for bar VP on my last trip.
