CASINOSAll casinos do free drink for players, whether slots, poker, BJ, whatever. I think Stonemans tip is based on experience and maybe a particular waitress.....I suspect casinos will give better waitress coverage of higher stake slots than the 1c slots.
If youre going to be there a while, a $5 initial tip is usually worthwhile to get her attention, followed by usually $1 per drink.....more if youre feeling generous or winning. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
We went to Centrifuge at the MGM to use a $15 beverage credit I got with the room. We sat down and started playing VP at the bar while we were waiting and the barman comped the drinks. I had completely forgotten about getting them comped at the bar.
We didn't have to play max bet and I didn't get to use the beverage credit., just tipped.
At the Orleans I had been playing the slots and there was no sign of a CW the whole time I was playing. I went to the bar to buy a coffee and seemed to be invisible as the barman ignored me despite it being lunchtime and the place being dead apart from a few locals at the bar.
I eventually sat down and played VP and he was there immediately so I finally got my coffee.0 -
VALUE FOR MONEYThis is such important advice...it can be so great if used properly...it can be awful if not. Agree with others that it's not really worth using in Vegas but other places it can be if you have done your research and know you'll be OK with any of the options you are likely to get.
wow, thanks! had no idea it was such science! will try and find out what i need to do...
does anyone know which forums are best for info/advice?0 -

I've always used www.betterbidding.com and done a lot of research....blindman has a Priceline thread here on MSE.

The main thing is you won't know exactly what hotel you will end up with until after your bid has been accepted...in some cases you may be able to narrow it down quite a lot and be pretty sure which hotel you will get if your bid is accepted but there's always a chance a new one will have cropped up...so important that you will be happy with anything that fits the criteria you've selected for the price you bid. You can narrow down the pool by limiting the area and star rating, etc...but there's always the potential for a surprise.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

VALUE FOR MONEYYou can also use https://www.biddingfortravel.com - however don't sign up to their forum or post anything. If they discover you're from outside the US they will ban your IP address and you won't be able to access their site again. They rely on profit made from hits coming from a link on their website, so they won't like you if you're unable to comply (which you can't if you are outside the US).;)0

VALUE FOR MONEYI've had to play max credits ($1.25) for a drink at PHo. It was the bar nearest to the TR desk. Heart bar didn't seem to bother what you were playing as long as you tipped. I think the difference my have been that it was very busy at Heart bar.0

VALUE FOR MONEYNot if you read my guide
your guide says:
WARNING
The hotel list on either site is NOT a comprehensive list of all hotels that may have been won through priceline. You may get a hotel through priceline that is NOT on the list.
That's what I meant.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
