HOTELSCan anyone let me know if the Gilttering Lights Drive thru is worth doing please?0
-
VALUE FOR MONEYWe are now checked in for tomorrow's flight to Las Vegas. Should get there at 7:30 Vegas time. No long haul issues for us this time, a friend is picking us up from the airport. I was hoping to have a look at the new terminal, but it seems that we are landing at T1 D gates. Ugh!!!
Never mind, it's still in Vegas.0 -

We haven't done it before but hadn't heard of it so went to look...looks interesting, but with the displays being along the track it doesn't seem as festive as when they have a whole residential street taking part...for some driving on the track itself might be worth it on its own though as not sure you get many chances to do that.
If no one here has been before there are quite a few videos on youtube.
Safe trip pebbles and see you in a few weeks!Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
VALUE FOR MONEYSee you soon ferf. Looking forward to it.0

we just like somewhere nice and comfortable to stay... going out eating, shopping, walking around and exploring somewhere new - just relaxing stuff really.
haven't yet hired a car in the US, so prefer destinations where you can fly direct from london and then get an easy connection to where you're staying. i guess that all adds to the price, because it means we end up staying centrally.
Sorry for being slow off the mark but (apart from it not being east coast) you're describing San Francisco! We thought it was such a lovely city - clean, friendly, beautiful, interesting, easy to get around, laid back and outdoorsy. Brilliant for shopping too"Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now"

if only it was on the east coast! going all that way, i think i'd rather hit LV... though would love to afford the time to have a 2-3 week trip and do SF, palm springs, etc0 -
CASINOSI've never had problems with spending too much on booze in Vegas. While gambling I'll go for cocktails or in the nicer casinos grey goose and 7 up. I've found mojitos often aren't great as they just chuck in some ice but I've had decent cosmos in most places. My view is you might as well go for a premium drink rather than a cheapo Corona or Bud
I've found that the Encore and Wynn have decent wine but this can be dangerous. I was brought 4 large glasses of wine in under an hour on a quiet night in the Encore once, that was probably about a bottles worth and it's not a great idea to drink at that pace for too long!
If you're passing Casino Royale you might as well get a couple of the $1 beers or frozen things. Same when passing the ABC down near the MGM, grab a beer from the fridge in there when walking to the next place (they helpfully sell mini bottle openers for $1). At Fremont street do the same and buy your beers from the ABC instead of the expensive stalls outside the casinos. I can't remember which casino it is but one of them sells really cheap Coronas at one of the bars inside.0 -
VALUE FOR MONEYI think it might be Bill's with the Corona's - a stand just inside the door? Maybe I'm mistaken. The bar at the back of Bill's has $2 margaritas (which def have tequila in them) and also they had Miller High Lifes for $1 or $2.
Must admit, I've never done the drinks from ABC etc, maybe because I don't like beer. Perhaps I should get myself a disposable wine glass that fits in my bag, or maybe there would be a mike's hard lemonade or similar anyway0 -

I think it's Bills on the strip and also one of the Fremont Street casinos (opposite the Golden Nugget) has bars with cheapo Corona.
I'd never bought beers from the ABCs until the last trip. Did they all always sell booze? Or maybe it's just because there seem to be more if them in more convenient locations now. If you're at Fremont street it's much cheaper than those silly plastic footballs of beer my OH likes!0 -
HOTELSI very much doubt it as the show is always a sell out.
We saw him about 5 years ago and booked online in advance. We fancied seeing him again a couple of years later, but as we weren't fussed we didn't booked in advance. We went to the box office, but the show was sold out for the 2 weeks we were there.
So after losing some on ebay I caved and bought them direct from ticketmaster.
We have never been to any shows and thinking going to see the beatles love show - where is the best place to get tix?
