Looks like it's just you Baz.....although I too am struggling to see where washing clothes comes into it -The Orleans has no laundrette (although the bathroom has an openable window -maybe you dry your smalls that way Baz ? If so -I suspect that's just you too !!

Last summer I had a split stay -stayed in Vegas-went off to Idaho and then returned to Vegas. I was supposed to be staying in Palace Tower room at CP (comped) both stays. After some exceptional poor customer service from CP I decided I didn't want to give them a penny more of my money that stay....so used comps at the Orleans instead-and had far better service and better value. I'm guessing you've never stayed at the Orleans as you don't seem to know where it is .....If you want superb value, a nice pool, huge choice of eating places from up-scale to buffet and a massive room with seperate seating area (often sold as a mini suite on Strip), cocktail waitresses who are always around and staff who actually smile and care about service.....perhaps you should try it sometime.

I'm a new recruit to the laundry crew too! Our hotel in Orlando last year had a launderette on site. I thought it was absolutely brilliant to be able to wash and re-wear and, best of all, to have no washing to do when we got home! The only reason I'm interested in trying for an upgrade at the Vdara is because I'd love to have a washer and dryer in the room :)

Same here :) I think we're just going to ask nicely if there are any Vdara or Corner suites are available when we check in and slip across 50bucks if we get sorted :)

I dont do laundry in vegas but I pack heavy!!

Another question about the Orleans shuttle, is it more outside the main entrance for the flamingo? Went past there last night and still wasnt sure!

No it's outside the side of Bills -walk past the flamingo-past the corner entrance of Bills to the end (which is still Bills) and turn left down the side of Bills and it's right there. Runs from 9.30 am ish to just after midnight every 20 minutes -there's also a shuttle there for the Gold Coast which is handy for visiting the Rio and Palms too.

Add me to the list of Vegas washer women.

We usually start and end the trip at the Carriage House. I get everything washed before we move hotels, wash everything we have worn when we move back to the CH then wash everything the last morning.

I have enough to cope with getting over jet lag without trying to wash and dry 2 weeks laundry when we get back. The small amount of time it takes to do is a big investment as far as I'm concerned.

Looking to be in Vegas for the 1st time, last week October/ first week November 2012, are the pool areas likely to still be open then, and will daytime temperatures be reasonable? Just asking as I did a weather search and it's saying for our dates we can expect daytime temps at 17 deg c, is that all?
    Thanks

It can be chilly first thing in the morning and later at night at that time of year, but warms up later in the day.

Most pools will be open and you would need a sheltered spot if you were intending sunbathing.

Im there the same time, The weather will be ok but not scorching hot. You should still manage some pool time with sun but expect it to cool down a lot in the evening.

has the Orleans shuttle moved? I know it used to pick up from Bill's, along the side...on Flamingo ...maybe that's what stoneman meant rather than picking up at Flamingo?

Yes you are correct, I meant Bills side on Flamingo, we had just got in and had a few, sometimes trying to be helpful can be more of a hindrance when too many Black Russians are involved.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
