we have magic pills like that only they are walgreens own brand, best thing ever if you have a cold.

    http://www.walgreens.com/store/c/walgreens-cold-multi-symptom-caplets-daytime/nighttime-combo-pack/ID=prod6000163-product

wonder how they compare ingedient wise to the eqaute ones

mine seem to have an expectorant/something for chest congestion - guaifenesin 200mg...otherwise the same active ingredients in the same doses. :) Mine are labeled Severe Cold Multi-Sympton...but can't seem to find them on the WalMart website. regardless, you know about the magic pills...you understand how awesome they are. Cold tablets in the UK do nothing at all for me...these are so much better.

I can't recommend this place as I haven't been yet, but we like the look of (and have purchased Restaurant.com vouchers for) First Food Bar @ Palazzo. Good looking menus and a great drinks menu... the certificate brings it to a reasonable price IMO :)

Thanks NVH - had a look for that restaurant but cant seem to find it on r.com
Maybe they have withdrawn from r.com or else im as blind as a bat lol!

I am guessing if the tasting menu was $135 each, by the time you added drinks and tips you went over $300, being a buffet person or a steak special at Ellis island, can it really be worth £200 plus for a meal for 2

Balanced this out in the rest of my trip - using R.com vouchers and buffet's!! Plus had a good craps run which more than paid for it!...

The cocktails were $14 each - the bill ended up being $400 incl tip!! Worth it for the experience - will try his new restaurant in Ceasers next year when it opens.....
  • vroom we too plan on dining at GR at Paris
bit of a belated treat for OH's birthday a few days ago & he is a total 'foodie'
we too will balance it out with r.com vouchers
Really looking forward to trying it!

    here you go:

I usually do searches within a 1 mile radius or 89109 and then another one for a 1 mile radius of 89119

This seems to cover places on the strip :)

Is it just me or is the Orleans a bit of a comedown compared to other strip hotels.
I mean, who wants to do washing when they are away? Vegas is all about excess, why spend and fly that far to stay in a basic hotel...

Orleans isn't on the strip, and doesn't have laundry facilities. It's a great place to stay. We will be there for 12 days next trip.

We do laundry when we are in Vegas. You probably would too if you stayed for six weeks. We prefer to stay for longer in less luxurious hotels, but I suppose everyone has their own preferences.

If anyone's interested, today's the last day to convert Tesco Clubcard points to Virgin Flying Club miles at the increased rate (937 for £2.50 instead of 625). Plus you get a bonus 1,000 if you opt-in to automatic pints to miles conversion (that offer ends today too). I've just done ours - we're both about 70% of the way towards a taxes only MAN - LAS return now :j

I would imagine its just you being snobby. Its the first time over the years reading this forum I've ever noticed anybody being sniffy in that way. FYI last time in vegas stayed at Bellagio Mandalay Bay MGM Golden Nugget The next visit will be including Orleans and Bills. After all variety is the spice of life

we do laundry for a 8-9 night trip, usually hotel move day...it means we can pack less (so more room for shopping) and it means that the task of doing the laundry when we get home is that much less daunting...I find that whole part of coming home very depressing so for me, spending an hour to get it done before we come home is well worth it.

Agree that everyone has their preferences...there are plenty of things people do in Vegas that I think are a complete waste of time...but I assume that since people do them, they enjoy them, and that's great...everyone should do what they like, what makes their holiday enjoyable to them.

I'm also not sure I would class Orleans as a 'basic' hotel...even in Vegas, there are a lot more basic...and certainly when you compare to hotels in most places in Europe, certainly of similar cost...you aren't going to find much at all and what you do find you probably won't want to go near as they will be really basic. :)

Vegas is so many different things to different people...the 'Vegas, yr doing it wrong' thing is just silly to me.
