HOTELSIf anyone's interested, today's the last day to convert Tesco Clubcard points to Virgin Flying Club miles at the increased rate (937 for £2.50 instead of 625). Plus you get a bonus 1,000 if you opt-in to automatic pints to miles conversion (that offer ends today too). I've just done ours - we're both about 70% of the way towards a taxes only MAN - LAS return now :j0

Really looking forward to trying it!
If you do go for the tasting menu - you get to keep a couple of menu's as a keepsake - with a picture of the man himself inside!!0 -
CASINOSAnother one that does washing in Vegas, I find it so much easier when I come back as Im pretty sure I won't need my summer clothes again here so they are all washed and I'll only iron if I need them. So much easier when unpacking for 4.....0

VALUE FOR MONEY+1 for the Vegas laundry massive!
hoping to get a suite upgrade next week so we have a washer and dryer... it's so nice getting home knowing that most of your luggage is clean and you don't have all that washing to do!

VALUE FOR MONEYit makes me happy that some people get it.
Our last 3 nights at Cosmo in October will (hopefully) mean no trip to Wizard of Suds, either!
The only time I regretted doing laundry in Vegas is when the power went at WoS...after all my stuff had been washed and just after it was put in the dryer...had to take a suitcase of wet clothes back to Caesars, check out, move to Wynn, then try to skulk around to try to find another place that wouldn't kick me out for using the dryers only...that was a complete pain, but every other time it's been well worth it to me.
I know it's not very Vegas-y, but if it makes us happy....Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
VALUE FOR MONEY*stands up* My name is Triker and I am a washer of clothes in Vegas.:o:dance:
Mainly as per others reasons, like to pack light and have the option of clean clothes if and when required.
Everyone has their preferences, some folks have to stay on the strip, me.... I'm not so bothered.
Some never bother with a car, we always get one, I

VALUE FOR MONEYI dont do laundry in vegas but I pack heavy!!
Another question about the Orleans shuttle, is it more outside the main entrance for the flamingo? Went past there last night and still wasnt sure!0 -
VALUE FOR MONEYhas the Orleans shuttle moved? I know it used to pick up from Bill's, along the side...on Flamingo ...maybe that's what stoneman meant rather than picking up at Flamingo?Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

BUFFETSadrienne1945 wrote: »Thanks for the reminder We're doing our Xmas Vegas on taxes only by going out with virgin & then home from San Francisco with BA (didn't have enough for 2 returns with either & then when my 2 brain cells lined up I realised there was enough for 2 of us 1 way with Virgin on their half miles offer and also then had enough Avios for 2 one way BA flights - great. Just got to sort out a hotel for few nights in Frisco over new year. Wondering whether it may be worth doing tesco exchange for miles to use for a frisco hotel.:)
Glad if I helped - I almost forgot, we were just on our way out for the day when I remembered!
If you're in need of any recommendations, we spent New Year in San Francisco a few years back and stayed at the Argonaut on Fisherman's Wharf. It was such a friendly and nice quality hotel when we were there (I loved the L'Occitane goodies in the bathroom!). They serve very nice, free wine at 5pm every evening - just watch out on NYE because the servers were very generous with the sparkling wine, we were sloshed by 7pm and ended up in bed asleep before midnight! We made up for it by getting up early the next day and hiring a tandem to cycle over the Golden Gate Bridge - best start to a year ever! A friend of mine stayed there a few months ago and he loved the place too so they seem to have maintained their high standards"Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now"

BUFFETSI'm a new recruit to the laundry crew too! Our hotel in Orlando last year had a launderette on site. I thought it was absolutely brilliant to be able to wash and re-wear and, best of all, to have no washing to do when we got home! The only reason I'm interested in trying for an upgrade at the Vdara is because I'd love to have a washer and dryer in the room"Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now"
