Froggit, given that it's after noon in Vegas, my guess is that Stoneman is on the home made cocktails at the pool again. Either he has left the netbook in the room, or he has fallen asleep over by the windows hopefully with the shade over so they don't get burnt. :rotfl: I'd be so jealous if I wasn't on my way there myself shortly, so I'm only a wee bit jealous!!!

Yes, it's totally walkable. Sounds like Tracy really doesn't like walking. We only got a taxi at Platinum when we were moving to the Rio, and maybe we got one back one night from somewhere like The Orleans or The Rio. We definitely didn't taxi back from Bellagio or that area of the strip. It's very walkable, bearing in mind you walk up and down the strip constantly, so it's only about 10 minutes from the strip max, and that's from a very central part of the strip compared to Signature (since MGM is quite far south).

You know you want to try it. Just don't be overdoing it and pushing their rates up!!!

    I dont, I drive everywhere

Platinum is waaaay off the strip...IMO :D

2 Izmailovo Hotel Moscow 7,500 rooms 4 towers, Alpha, Beta, Vega, Gamma-Delta, 30-stories each
off-topic I know, but out of interest, I clicked on the above - it says:
The Izmailovo Hotel is a group of hotels located near Izmailovo village
so the second largest hotel in the world is actually a group of hotels????... errr...?

    a group of 4 towers.
I guess you could argue the MGM Signature is 3 seperate hotels as each is self contained with its own checkin desk.

Never stayed at Plat or been there. But, it doesnt look that much further to the strip than Signature. Yeah Siggy is a walk thru the MGM (largest hotel in the world) and it takes 20 minutes to the strip, whereas Plat is along the road, but Stoneman, is it really walkable in your umble opinion?

You are right it is walkable, less than 10 minutes from door to front of Ballys, but at 8 pm it is still about 90 degrees, and after spending an hour getting makup and hair done, Tracy does not want to "glow" by walking, and she always wears high heels.
It's a personal choice, we decide to take the easy option of rides. We do our exercise in the morning by running 5 miles most days.

Fair enough, in heels it's a bit of a trek. I don't wear heels in Vegas so don't have that issue. I don't do a 5 mile run either though. Somehow doubt I'd manage that :o It's cooling down into September though, so hopefully not as hot by the time we get there.

Online checkin tomorrow morning...getting closer :j

Weather on Fox 5 says low 100's for labor day weekend, low of 85 at night, if you want to call that cooling down.
Cocktails today were bucks fizz then a self induced snooze. Got woken up by rain!! Anyway cleared up went to Ellis island for steak special at 3:30, looked in at the BBQ at 4:10 and there were still spare seats!
Back to the pool for another rest now, life is hard.

Venetian/Pallazo is a pair of towers, so if you remove all the pairs and groups, the MGM without the signature is the biggest ;)
