    CASINOS
hotel conundrum, looking for a little MSE vegas wisdom

we're booked into vdara for 8 nights from 10th sept. got price match on booking.com through quickrooms price is £560 all in.

The more we think about it the more we're being drawn back to a traditional hotel/casino and specifically the cosmo.

IF and it's a big IF we could get the marriott price match we could get a terrace studio or 1 bedroom for £~800.

so the question is, would you stay in cosmo for an extra £200-220 or stick and save the cash?

Can you do cash withdrawals from the cages at casinos?

I wondered if a transaction like that would be seen as a cash withdrawal for my debit/credit card or a hotel transaction and treated differently by my bank?

You can and I think that they are - they are cash withdrawals, really...

Pretty sure some cages require 2 forms of photo ID...I am sure I heard some English guy arguing with the PH cashier as he only had a passport and various credit and debit cards but their rules say 2 photo IDs and they were not having any of it.

Zaffi Ive just booked Cosmo for 5 nights in September for part of our honeymoon. I paid £632 for terrace suite, so if you can get it for twice the length of time for £800 I would give it a go!
When we were last in Vegas we there 1 month before Cosmo opened so I always said if I went back I would defo want to stay there!!

Found an application for Android (free) that may be of use... Still checking it out to be honest but thought I'd throw it out there for opinion.

Called "GPS daily deals", it allows you to select Vegas as your home city, and collates all the groupon, travelzoo, kgb, livingsocial etc. deals

I've not double checked but did see some groupon offers coming through.

Maybe of use but not explored it too much including sussing out whether you can buy from the more obscure sites (ie. Mobile Spinach?) if you're based outside the US

Still trying to decide where to stay for our September trip. 2nd September we will drive over from LA (flying there and staying 2 nights due to the huge difference in flight price). We are thinking of staying at Green Valley Ranch for 2 nights on arrival in Vegas. Then we will have 3 more weeknights before the Friday. Thinking of staying at Carriage House fri-fri, then driving back to LA on Friday 14th for one night before flying back on 15th. So we have the 3 night gap to fill, good deal at the Rio $31 per night (no resort fee). Very tempted to look at Cosmopolitan, it looks lovely. $50 MGM plus resort fee.$42 at Flamingo in a Fab Deluxe room. Can't completely decide about Carriage House. It's $79 over the weekend (7th, 8th), so very good rate. Don't want to overdo the hotel hopping though either, since we've got the LA days on either end. Decisions...decisions...

Zaffi...I can't comment on the vdara although it does look lovely, however....we stayed at the cosmo last year and it was fantasic. We have a premium terrace and it was quite simply amazing!!

We kepy looking at staying there again this year but decided to try elsewhere. Saying that.....I would love to stop there again and if the price had been better for our dates I'm sure we would have gone for it.
