wow, thanks for the info everyone.

looks like we will be lounging round the pool for alot of our trip (not that i mind)

what is a resort fee? and will i have to pay this too?

    thanks xx

You have a few suggestions, just to add mine

Free shows, that a 5 year old may enjoy are the fountains in front of Bellagio and the Volcano at the front of the Mirage.

Already mentioned and would recomend Circus Circus for the free circus acts and Town square, I was in town square a couple of weeks ago and the kids were having great fun in the water sprinklers so be prepared for her to get wet!

Shows as mentioned very few are suitable for a 5 year old but as Ferf says Mac King would be and it is free/cheap in the afternoon.

To reiterate what Ferf says, children (under 21) are not allowed to loiter in a casino (strictly enforced) and are not allowed in any bar area.

M and M shop (3 levels) next door to MGM

Further afield there is Ethel M chocolate factory and cactus garden.

20 weeks to go & counting!
Flying Dublin via Heathrow, direct to Vegas with BA
5 nights NY NY followed by 5 nights in a terrace studio at Cosmopolitan!
Total cost is £1800/£1900 for the 2 of us!
Already got enough r.com cents I think so now just saving up the spending money!
Excited just doesn't cover how I feel right now :-)
Thanks for all the info & tips on here!

Dont my posts get read ;)

Obviously yes! I had opened the link and read it, but when I went back to the tab a while later, I thought I had opened it from another Vegas site I visit.

    Humblest apologies.

There are loads of things to do that do not cost much, more if you have a car but sounds like you probably will not...it is only 5 days and if you have a look at the sites with coupons from the first page you can probably find some discounts for various meals.

It is a tight budget...things like The Secret Garden for 3 of you will likely cost about $60 after tax I think...it may not be worth that much to you...I agree with those who have suggested the free habitat out back of Flamingo - lovely place, very relaxing and I think kids would really like it (the birds are brave though - they will steal food :))

I sounds like Town Square would be a good option...it looks like on the RTC website children 5 and under travel free...would still be 2x$7 for you guys to get your tickets, but good for 24-hours and may be a good way to do some of your exploring to keep the little one from getting tired by too much walking.

I also think duchy's suggestion of Orleans makes sense...even if it would just be to go to the cinema (likely much cheaper than the UK) or bowling.

You could also maybe check the Las Vegas Groupon site for the next few weeks, just in case an excursion came up that might interest you.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
