I I've seen this on another forum and am looking into it for a few nights on our next trip. I'm assuming that the www.virginatlantictravelplus.com comes out in GBP, what exchange rate did they use?

It was about 1.58, which was the proper rate at the time.

Is there a reason not to do it through Marriot.co.uk and so they will take 25% of the virgin rate in £?

Slightly off topic but was hoping somebody might know or point me in the right direction...

My parents booked the offer with flight centre last year when they did the flash sale for Vegas with Virgin, you pay a pound for the flight + taxes so worked out just over 600 pound for 2 people (sorry no pound sign, american laptop!)

Due to health reasons and on advice from consultant they had to cancel. Didnt think it would be a problem to claim on insurance but they are now saying they don't payout for airport taxes, meaning they would only get the ticket price back....a quid!

Im slightly annoyed as insurance company had us fill forms,Drs letter etc. then decided to tell us they don't cover it. It's an expensive policy with AGE UK as they are over 65 so thought they would be covered well. The policy is an annual one so was taken out before the flights were booked and of course you hope not to use it. So yes lesson learned I should have read it word for word but missed the part about taxes!

So not sure what to do now, do we go to Virgin would they pay the taxes? It wasn't booked direct with them so not sure why they would.

Any advice would be really appreciated, TIA.

haha funny you should say that, we kept going past it last time and the missus really wants to go there this time round :)

sounds like we like the same kind of eateries! any other recommendations? we really like Cabo Wabo at the front of Miracle Mile, Cheeseburger in Miracle Mile and the Aria buffet...

Never been to Cabo Wabo or cheesburger, might have a look. I think the others we like are all normally posted on here such as the Peppermill (normaly for brekfast) though I want to go one evening for cocktails in the fireside lounge.

I quite liked El Segundo Sol, will also go back to Memphis championship BBQ (more as they sell there own BBQ rub called 'magic dust' that I seem to use on nearly everything I cook). Thats all I can really think of at the moment.

No insurance company will reimburse taxes and charges for flight tickets as they are recoverable from the agent minus of course some more fees:mad:.

You need to get in touch with the flight centre and they will set the wheels in motion to get the tax back

this is the reason we have never booked through Best of Vegas...I think it does say that you will be assigned the best available seats at the time of your order, but I like to know what seats we are getting before committing when we're booking in advance. :)

    Update on Jersey boys tickets

I went through bestofvegas for the $99 upgrade promotion and initally got a voucher without seat numbers on but today I received another voucher with seat numbers on

Row FF seats 23/24..five rows from the front and in the middle so a great deal, I believe this is the first row behind the top price tickets

thanks for the tips, will check them out!
cabo wabo does some good mexican food, it's got a great vibe and you can sit outside on the terrace, almost on top the Strip... awesome for people watching, plus you can see the fountains too.
Cheeseburger is a Hawaiian themed place, which does all sorts and burgers obviously... it's a pretty 'honest' place, great if you fancy some good ol' burgers, fries, shrimp, etc... great comfort food!

ooooh, no, but would be interested depending on prices.
though I still think the whole otter experience at Roos N More will be hard to top.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
