well, finally booked the only 3 nights we had left to book - sacrificed 69,000 airmiles for the privilege of a terrace @ Cosmopoliton (worth about £450 I think) so gives us a chance to try the place out and not spend any money on a bed - quite pleased with that and we've still got some spare miles to build on for another time

ferf - do you get the book just for the vouchers, or is there any variation year on year (or anything of use) within the book itself?

I think that the casino info will be updated too, but most years we cut along the spine at the point the coupons start and pitch the rest as we find the book too big to haul around...so we probably don't really look at much of the rest of it. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

i'm not a $25 bettor by any means, but free matchplay you might aswell do, as you have a much better chance of making some money. practically a free bet.

I understand why it's appealing to some, but I'm still not comfortable staking $25 of my cash on one single bet....maybe partly because every time I've done a matchplay run (usually $10 bets) almost all have lost). :) And yes, I understand that being a slot player means that my general approach to sensible gambling is questionable to begin with.

Forgot to say - 2 queens is what we're after.

The terrace rooms are better because of the terrace BUT AFAIK the city rooms are the only rooms with 2 queens so you wont want an upgrade

I always read the book from cover to cover thats the MSE in me :D, it doesnt vary very much from year to year, but does have a lot of different game strategy in it and all the odds on slots etc

I dont think we will get either book this year in 3 weeks time :T:T:T, that will be the first time in years, just beacause we have a few rest.com vouchers and others printed from the web, plus the fact that both books have been getting worse over the years.

Just to add I usually use the matchplay bets and have won more than lost.

We haven't bothered with the ACG for a couple of years now. I'm considering it again this year though, still got time to get one before we go on 29th March.

    congratulations Ian :j

not sure how up-your-street it will be, but we ate at DOCG in The Cosmopolitan and it was phenomenal. It wasn't the cheapest meal we've ever had (!) and service everywhere in LV seems to be pretty hot, but here they were amazing.

we were initially attracted to it as it said pizza/pasta/rustic italian, but the food was not much short of fine dining. it certainly wasn't a Zizzis, which we were expecting!

the place had a suitably formal feel to it, but not THAT formal so as to feel uncomfortable, but was very relaxing and you are very well looked after.

Thanks, we had dinner there last year (I think we shared a pizza) and really enjoyed it but will probably want to go somewhere new. BTW you would probably like Wolfgang Pucks pizzeria in Crystals, simalar sort of place and the 6 or so mini tasting gelatto is pretty good.

Duchy, I'm the same, sure I have seen a couple of restaurants in Ceasers Palace, cant fathom which ones on the website so will have a look in there as well having a look in the Bellagio.

NVH, I have no idea where it is, I think he does have 2 restaurants there again will venture down and have a look. We havent spent really any time at all at either the Venetian or Pallazio.

Failing all of that it will be 4x4 animal style at In n Out burger (auctually might go there on our photo tour!).

haha funny you should say that, we kept going past it last time and the missus really wants to go there this time round :)

sounds like we like the same kind of eateries! any other recommendations? we really like Cabo Wabo at the front of Miracle Mile, Cheeseburger in Miracle Mile and the Aria buffet...
