Order the American Casino Guide from Amazon. Under £11 and loads of vouchers. Pretty much guaranteed to make your money back on it even if you only use 2 vouchers.

I would check the coupon list first before committing

For us, we find the Las Vegas Advisor Member Reward Book better value, though it's more expensive to begin with ($37)...there is lots of duplication between the two.

If anyone does order the ACG, make sure it is the current year as they do sell previous year's books at amazon which will be no good.

good point. i would use quite a few ACG ones, especially the free $25 table play at golden gate! we are staying downtown for a few nights so likely worth more to us. and yes, check the version you are buying! amazon was £10.86 with free delivery. i find its a good read also and gives good advice on table betting and vegas and general. perhaps more of a new starters book.

i have a $50 off the flame steakhouse at el cortez which we're planning on going to whihh i purchased last year off restaurant.com i notice they now only do $25 off coupons. will they still honour it? i don't see why they shouldn't?

Ive got this year's ACG which we're gonna use a few vouchers from. As with last year, if anyone wants the leftovers once we get back they're free to use them. I'll post what we havent used when we get back.

Have noticed that there are a few missing from last year that we used but will still get our moneys worth from it.

Same with the LVA, they have been getting slimmer over the years, but as the Paris and PH buffet vouchers ($10 off each) are good for up to 2 people, we made $3 buying the membership with just those two.

I think the vouchers you buy aren't always that great for first-timers though - unless they review the vouchers and are sure that they will use enough to justify the cost...we just had trip 19 and didn't do loads of stuff we planned and I think first-timers should to some extent leave themselves open to discover things along the way and not feel stuck if they want to get their money's worth.

Me, I wouldn't use a $25 matchplay as I wouldn't stake $25 on one even-money bet, but that's just me...now the Haagen Dazs voucher...that's another story and one that's missing from the LVA book this year! :)

jammerr - the vouchers do not expire so provided the restaurant is still in the programme you should be fine with the voucher you have.

I have just booked my first ever trip to Vegas, cannot wait, staying at the Vdara which doesn't have a casino (hopefully means it's less noisy), has anyone stayed here before?

twice, and have a third stay booked there for September.

search this thread for 'vdara' for recent conversations, also search the 2010 and 2011 threads as i, and others, did reviews after our stays.

    in short, it's great!

Thanks for the Primm tips. We're stopping there as we're coming from LA anyway, and not much point paying £100 for a night (staying at the cosmo) if we're going to get there late. Plus we want to go to the mall at Primm anyway, so makes sense.

The cosmopolitan seems very popular on here. How much difference is there between the city rooms and terrace studios? Its about an extra £15 per night, which doesn't seem extortionate. And whats the chance of an upgrade? Does the $20 tip work there - I would have thought probably not?

don't risk a $20 upgrade. for a start you can only have 2 queen beds in a city room and you don't get a balcony. terrace studio you're guaranteed a balcony which is well worth it and a bigger room. go for one of these and then try and an upgrade :)

i'm not a $25 bettor by any means, but free matchplay you might aswell do, as you have a much better chance of making some money. practically a free bet.

good to know about the voucher.

We used the Palms half off MRB for Sunday brunch at Garduno's. I didn't know that it included all you can drink Margaritas. Im not keen on Marg,s so only had a few. (I couldn't drive after 1, but I don't usually drink spirits at home. A couple of beers is my limit.) Tony enjoyed them because he thought they tasted nice. I won't go into detail, but he lost a day, and I had a lot of work to do.

That is a wonderful way to get your money back on the MRB! But do be careful.

Forgot to say - 2 queens is what we're after.
