I've been expecting an Amazon delivery this week and tracked it this morning to see that it has been delivered and signed for by me....erm, nope!

I had an over the gate parcel a while ago, can't remember who it was though. I was expecting the worst but it had landed on the bin out of reach of both dogs.

Well to balance this I've had the "experience" of using one of yodel's rivals this week.

Initial delivery was alleged to be when I was not in (it actually came next day, sorry to all those who expect me to wait in my house for several days until I receive my package). They claimed to have left a card.

I knew I would be out the next day too, so I requested them not to deliver that day.

I also requested a redelivery at the end of the week. I warily gave them details of a safe place, as they had asked me to avoid any further misses. On that day, I waited and waited and waited.

So, guess what happened on these 3 scenarios?

The clue is that it is not yodel, but a competitor. On the first delivery day, I arrived home to find a card thru my letterbox with all details about how to rearrange by web or gob. Great, no lies told (yodel failed here, 4 times in a row).

On the second day when I was out and had told them I was out, no delivery was attempted (yodel failed here twice - once, a real attempted delivery, 4 days after I had told them to shove it back to sender. And also a "fake" delivery attempt on a day I had told them I would be out).

On the day when I'd requested a redelivery, as I said, I waited and waited and waited. But then just before lunch, they came. Yodel failed here twice, leaving me waiting until 8pm+ on each day, with no delivery.

Of course, Yodel's service varies from area to area. Some people have great service from them. In my area it is repeatedly appalling, and is definitely a lifestyle driver (has been seen). The key thing is that yodel's management should be ensuring a consistent level of service, whether they use their own well trained drivers, or take a gamble on giving seasonal folk and hour or so of training before unleashing on the public.

I have also been let down by Yodel. I had a parcel which was dispatched by the website on 19th Dec and then shockingly NO attempts made at delivery by Yodel and then today they just sent back to Matalan who have just restocked it and said nothing they can do apart from give me a refund.

I can't believe Yodel didn't attempt delivery once (even after 3 phone calls). Really annoying and shocking customer service.

3rd time non-delivery from Yodel again today ! I actually chased the van down the drive, shouting him to stop - but he just drove off :mad::mad:!!

Have finally managed to get through on their 0800 number - only to be told they cannot contact the driver as his phone is not working - How convenient!

Have arranged (yet again) for a delivery on Monday. Watch this space :(.

I will never again buy from anyone who uses this company - they are totally useless.

Until I googled them on this forum, I didn't realise they had such a bad reputation - absolutely shocking, I won't be buying anything from anywhere which uses them now.

Can't believe they don't even attempt deliveries

I had an expensive item picked up, went missing without being scanned into the depot 11 miles away. So, either there is a problem with scanning, or the item didn't make it to the depot in Bristol?

    Can I ask?

What happens to the undelivered items with Yodel? I would still rather have the item than any other option and the compensation offered is paltry, Yodel will make money off me if they auction off my item?

Is it possible that it is just lying in a room somewhere? Does anybody at Yodel actively try to get boxes where labels have come off (for example) back to either the addressee, sender, customer etc, particularly if the item is very identifiable?

well for starters. the compensation is the level you agreedto
    so its a moot point
    Yodel aren't like Royal Mail
all of their items are tracked.as such, when an item is missing it most likely is missing
eg lost, stolen, misdelivered(eg. delivered with another package)
of course it could be in a room, van etc,but nobody can give you a definitive answer on that bar YodelIf it has any address on it,then I would expect Yodel to attempt ot get it to that address

Well tracked my Amazon parcel this morning only to discover it is out for delivery from Colchester Essex depot, bizarre as my local is Ipswich Suffolk and all my Yodel parcels have gone to the latter... no idea why it was sent there, I just hope the driver can find me....

And will have to wait in, which is a shame as the Ipswich driver was inherited from HDNL and he is great and usually turns up roughly at the same time which is a bonus. Do need to go out today so will hang on until 1/2pm and hope if I miss them today they will re-attempt Monday/ next week as not planning to go out much next week.

Glad I opted for Parcelforce and not Yodel when doing another order yesterday lol... Apart from occasional poor tracking I have had no complaints with Yodel until now, it is stupid going to the Colchester depot and not Ipswich!!
