well despite the wagon and I parting company I am pleased to say that the trousers are not feeling overly tight this morning. I have been trying an experiment with bread - usually if I eat any I get nice and bloated and feel really icky. Generally I avoid bread but do miss toast and so on at the weekends. Friend gave me some artisan bread and that was fine so think it is the "other stuff" that may be an issue for me. So I have been loaned a bread maker and I have made my first loaf. I had 2 slices of marmite toast soldiers with my boiled eggs yesterday (oh yes straight back to childhood with that one!) and today I had a roast chicken and avocado sandwich with said HM bread.
Felt OK yesterday and hoping today will be the same. If this works then I can extend the repertoire of foods from salads and soups to the occasional sandwich, especially on a Monday when we have left over roast bits. I am experimenting with the longevity of the bread and so when I would make this to be able to maximise use. DH is still happy to eat plastic fantastic bread so not worth making it for the two of us yet, but thinking that the smell and seeing it will eventually make him change his mind.

Just got home from a 4 hour hike in the snow (not counting the time in the stores!). Needed to visit Aldi (1.1 mile round trip), Morrisons, and Sainsbury's (3.2 mile round trip combined). Ended up helping a lady carry her groceries home from Aldi, so walked an extra quarter mile over what I normally do. Little over 4 1/2 miles total and I am exhausted!!!!

Trying to eat lower GI instead of worrying about calories for the moment.I'm still tracking on MFP, but sort of as a back up. Other than being worn out from the snow, I feel wonderful! No blood sugar drops/being fatigued today from food. :)

Not been doing well this week, our family has too many birthday celebrations in January, but back to "being good" today.
I've been to visit my mother this afternoon...she produced the box of xmas biscuits, and I say "no thank you, I'm not eating biscuits any more" ...and she says "oh go on, just one, they're lovely". I know they're lovely, I can see them! All covered in thick chocolate, and shiny wrappers! :rotfl:
If I can lose weight, even with my mothers "assistance" I should be well chuffed with myself!

Finally have had a good food day and am well within the cals for the day.
Took lunch to work - a salad roll and fruit and had a low cal curry for tea.
Have walked the dog and am just about to set off on his last walk of the day.
Going to have some raspberries and a choc mousse later when the nibblies strike:)

  • well done us !!!

But today is the start of another week and we have to stay motivated  Keep the pounds coming off.. :A

This morning, I switched on the wii and it was hard.. I was fair looking forward to my morning exercises and, instead of moving and bending and doing woodchops... It was yoga... well, I know some people love it but, for me, it's like watching paint dry.. I find it boring just sitting there in the cobbler's pose or some other such thing.. :( I need action and movement.. Tomorrow, it's box fit and I feel that I am burning some calories while doing exercises that I enjoy !

    Foodwise:

I decided to make an easy chicken tandoori... :)

2 chicken breasts cut up into cubes
4 large, heaped spoonfuls of low fat, greek yoghurt mixed with with tandoori spices... I add a tsp at a time until I get the taste I want.

Pop everything into a ziplock bag and make sure all the chicken is coated.. Then pop the bag into the fridge to cook at tea-time.

    Teatime:
Soak 4 bamboo skewers, rub them with a little oil to stop the chicken sticking... Pop the bag of chicken into a bowl and then thread the chicken onto a skewer.. letting the excess coating drop back into the bowl.

Pop the skewers under the grill until nicely browned.. Heat up any remaining yoghurt mix and use it as a dipping sauce..

I plan to serve it up with some salad as I am not fond of rice..

By the way, although I live in Scotland, there is not a drop of snow !!! I can walk down to my chooks without slipping and sliding on ice and snow.. but it might still come then I'll burn more calories clearing the driveway.. :)
