I weigh my porridge every morning. 30g of dry porridge and then add 180ml of skimmed milk. I usually add a teaspoon of honey or syrup to mine.

If I don't weigh it out I reckon I have about 50g and all this guessing soon adds up.

I was having 35g but after a STS this week I figured I need to skim some calories off somewhere!

I will weigh out about 35g tomorrow to see how different it is to the amount I have:o.

DH seems to be doing his utmost to sabotage my healthy eating attempts he has just cooked e TWO batches of double choc chip brownie. House smells fantastic but blimey I want a piece or 6 now!

    Oooh, tempting! Are you resisting?

My mother does this to me, she doesn't seem to take my dieting efforts seriously. I told her I'm not eating chocolate any more, so this week she gave me some as a gift! If she offers biscuits and I say no thanks, she goes "oh go on, it's only one!"
Then she bakes and brings it to my house, and I tell her she's making it harder to eat healthily, and she says "it's for the boys" - they're in their twenties !!!!!!!
And when in the past I've lost weight and got down to a size 14, she's started to worry that I'm getting too thin, god give me strength :rotfl:

LuckyCat - if you've only recently started exercise its quite normal to put on a pound or two initially. Its water weight that your body stores to protect your muscles. As you get used to exercise the excess water will drain away and you'll get a nice little loss. Keep going - it will all even out - promise!

I have resisted all except the crumbs from cutting it up. Packaged some up for office to get rid of it. I also cut it into 1 inch squares rather than 2 inch squares so if I do succumb damage can be limited (in theory!)

Have had roast chicken dinner now feel full so hoping I can resist for the rest of the evening!

Turns out that myfitnesspal has far too much wiggle room for me. I need something that tells me exactly what to eat and how much. I also need something or someone to check in with me every day to make sure I'm actually doing what I should.

Anyone have any recommendations of free online programs that might help? I don't want a quick fad thing, I want adequate nutrition, but I need that guidance that I'm severely lacking in.

Well done us on this week's losses :D

I was away at the weekend at a wedding. Don't think I have done TOO much damage as I hardly ate anything on the day of the wedding and did LOADS of highly energetic ceilidh dancing, but I am going to be extra good this week just to be on the safe side.

Just about to go and do an exercise DVD - or at least to try and see if my aching, bruised body can cope with it!

Good luck this week everyone :)
