Hey haven't we all done well, even just reporting the weight is a big step and means we are all more conscious of the food going in and the energy going out.

Completely agree with the comment about when did the water with meals be replaced with alcohol. We went from water to squash at some point in the past and this had an effect too. Water now. Don't do tea or coffee except a morning when I have slept in a hotel and it's for breakfast but do drink fruit / herbal teas as a consequence all day every day.

As for the confrontation I find it much more peaceful with the ignore button doing its job, of course the best option would be for this to NOT happen at all.

Rossy as you know you like the recipe could you cut it down by half next time so you don't have the left overs?

  • Afternoon, All,

    Where did the day go?

I started my 40 mins fitness thingy on the wii at 8.00 am in the hope that I wouldn't be disturbed.. so the postman came near the end !!! I managed to almost rip off one of my toenails when I stubbed my foot trying to get my jeans on over my shorts.. Oh it was painful... Anyway, finished off the exercising and then went onto cleaning out the fire.. I then decided to run the hoover round before I cleaned out the chickens at the bottom of the garden.. By this time it was after 10.30 and I hadn't had any breakfast but I needed to get dinner into the slow cooker..

    Chicken or Turkey casserole..

Just over 1/4 pt of chicken stock (made with half a stock cube),
    4 potatoes, peeled and quartered
    3 large carrots, roughly chopped
1 onion peeled and chopped into quarters
a couple of cloves of garlic
    2 sticks of celery

Stir the veggies into the stock (It can be any veggies you like) and then place the turkey legs or even a whole chicken on top..(I would cut the chicken in half) Season it well with whatever you fancy and then cook on slow for 5 and a half hours..

I also have a very frightened cat at the moment, so I have been playing with it on the staircase with a pingpong ball... but she has never shown any interest.. but it gets me going up and down the stairs upteen times! Then all of a sudden, I felt her rubbing herself on my legs !!! Success at last.. she should now get better and more confident and, hopefully, she should be able to get homed in about a month's time..

Still never had breakfast... but it is almost lunchtime so I made myself a pot of minestrone soup (I had some leftover homemade pasta sauce in the fridge) and helped myself to a bowlful...

A quick cleanup and then I got a visitor and they have just left.. so I am writing this before I go and thicken the gravy in the slow cooker... and I'll go and make myself a cup of tea..

    Take care ...

    Hello x
Rossy - I dont eat much after 6 isn - I might have a yogurt or some fruit. It literally just "sits better" if I don't and I don't end up with indigestion at 3am! However, I dont think there is any medical evidence to suggest that eating earlier or later affects the amount of calories burned - just how many.

Oh and by the way - I totally understand how you feel about leftovers. When I first joined MSE I was very nervous but am now the queen of leftovers and take a plastic bag to meals to bring home any - much to my families' horror!!
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
