Weighed myself yesterday morning, but I've not been able to get online to report in. Very disheartened to report a gain of 1lb :(

I'm not holding out much hope for a loss next week as we are away and I'll have very little control over what food is served. Also I will be unable to weigh myself until Sunday morning. All in all it is not the start I was hoping for.

Did you measure yourself too? Sometimes when i have gained or sts i have actually lose inches, dont be too hard on yourself, things will fall into place :)

    Morning all :)

Occasionally someone comes along who 'knows everything' - best thing to do is to ignore them. They'll soon get tired of making ridiculous remarks and go annoy somewhere else. (Especially when they can't type in English, of they may have had a bit too much to drink!). What we're doing is right for us, individually or as a group so keep on keeping on with the support we offer each other. Have a sunny day whatever the weather, back later with my meals :)
Couldn't agree more sparrer and your advice about ignoring the one who 'knows everything' seems to be working.
I think this is such a lovely supportive group and it's certainly helping me along.
Mind you not a good day eating wise for me today but on the other hand a completely wonderful day, as I went to see my beautiful new grandaughter, 2 days old, so some celebrating with wine was involved.:j
I will get back on track tomorrow, hope the snow stays away then I can walk.
    Keep it up everyone.

I didn't say the people here are unsupportive. I'm saying the advice here is shockingly bad. Sometimes people become too nice that they become unhelpful. A teacher who never tells the children what they do wrong is not a good teacher, and the children will never lean - although she is very nice. It's very typical of many weight loss support groups - "Sure, dear, shove that chocolate cake into your mouth. You deserve it!"

All I will say to the people in here is, if you really want to lose the fat, follow my advice here.
No thanks. I've already lost over 4 stones through not following your advice.

Stop moaning. If you want to follow bad advice and screw up your body, go for it! :T

You need much more protein in there. Looks like a severe nutritional deficit.. be careful.

Still, well done, that sounds like an excellent day, you'll definitely be running a large calorie deficit with that amount of exercise on that intake! :) :T

But most people on this thread are not looking for advice. They are looking for support, which is a very different thing. You keep offering unsolicited 'advice' but that isn't really what this thread is about. People don't (usually) post their daily food diaries, for example, for others to comment on - they are just posting because writing it down and being accountable can help some people to keep on track. I'm not sure what unhelpful advice you are referring to, as people on here don't really tend to take on an advisory role towards each other.

If you saw someone at the side of the road struggling to change a car tire, not knowing how to do it, and putting themselves in an extremely dangerous position, would you not offer advice and offer to help?

It's the same on here. Some people are running shockingly bad diets, putting their health at severe risk. Some have got lots of willpower but are doing things the extremely hard way. You may not care, but I couldn't live with myself if I didn't at least offer a little advice.
