Remember that the diet industry is worth trillions of dollars so they are not going to make it easy for you..
I also understand what you mean about uncomplicated way of life.. I remember when we used to wait until our dad came home on a Friday night. His pockets were full of sweets and he carried ONE bottle of lemonade.. We each got a little bar of chocolate and a sweetie and the bottle of lemonade was shared between 5 of us.. :A and we were well off... but we looked forward to that for years.... We certainly didn't have the temptations that exist today!
Awww thanksyou reminded me of my childhood when sweets etc were a treat, a rare treat, good memories
I will start writing down how i feel after my meals and try to forge new habits as i know a lot of my eating is either comfort or boredom so i know i need to make a concious effort to sort this once and for all
thanks again

>sparrer creeps in looking left and right, hoping the room is back to its calm and peaceful self this morning
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Me too!!
I’ve decided to get back into the habit of planning and writing up my daily menu, I was falling into old habits and just pulling the first thing out of the fridge/freezer and eating what I liked the look of, as a result fresh stuff was getting past it’s best and having to be chucked.
So here goes Today =
B – Hot Lemon Drink, Greek Yoghurt, grapefruit & pomegranate
L - Scotch Broth, dry toast. Pear
D – h/m beef & quinoa patties, parsnip crisps, mixed salad.
Exercise consisted of shovelling snow to clear the drive – need to get the car out tomorrow to go to the garage, but late afternoon showers and more forecast, I'll need to do it again in the morning – anyway decided to walk to the shops, normally takes me 15mins but 30mins today :rotfl:, not good in wellingtons though as my shins/calves are aching - no pain no gain.....rightMe againjust a quick question...........where do you peeps stand on not eating after a certain time? I have been trying not to eat after 7pm, does anyone else have an opinion on this?
I try to stick to no starchy carbs (bread, potatoes, pasta, rice etc) after 6pm which is often why my evening meal only consists of a portion of protein and heaps of veg/salad. I may however snack on fresh/dried fruit or nuts during the evening if I get peckishJan - June Grocery spends = £531.61

That chicken casserole sounds yummy, especially seeing as it's getting so cold!0 -

Hi Misspiggy,
Have you tried moving your scales to another bit of the floor??? You can get several different readings doing that and you can always post in the best resultAll joking aside, it could vary several pounds on my bathroom floor.... Just so you know ...

Hi there!
Nah, I haven't moved them, thought as long as I keep them in the same place at least the reading should be consistent. However, if we get into the last week of the challenge and I'm nowhere near my target, I'll be trying every corner of the house to get the best result
So beware if I post a magical loss of half a stone in the final week!0 -
You could always lean on a chair at the same time, just in case you topple over... Health and safety and all that !!!!0

Morning all
Rossy I tend to eat when I'm hungry, if I want dinner at noon or nine pm then that's when I have it but I don't have huge portions of anything. I try not to drink after 7pm though except for the glass of water I take to bed.
B - spicy, fruity porridge
D - baked mackerel, mash, mushrooms.
T - vlf philly and tomato in WW wrap
S - melon, apple, satsuma, grapes
E - usual effort
Snow is almost gone although 'they' are forecasting more. As long as we only get when we had yesterday I'm reasonably happy
Enjoy your day0 -
Morning all
Managed to sit on my bum in the cinema last night - very nice and social activity with friend who managed to break her toe! So not gym - not good but sometimes helping people is worth more.
Have a frantic day lined up with lots of running around the Tube so might make up for it! I will be powering up and down the escalators to keep moving (and warm!)Start info Dec11

Morning all
I went 200 cals over yesterdaynot good! It would have been a perfect day except I kept snaffling handfuls of dry cereal which added up to 200 cals! I had a migraine and my medicine for it makes me feel really nauseous and eating is the only thing that settles my stomach, but still...
I am not going to dwell on it though as my sneaky step on the scales this morning still looks positive, and if I stay around 50 cals under each day for the rest of the week I will balance it out
Need to try and do some exercise today though still feeling a bit poorly - also have terrifying amounts of marking to do, why am I procrastinating here?! ok, marking time it is....
Hope everyone else is having a good week!0 -
Morning,
I'm not doing too badly after the over indulgence at the weekend, ate so many vegetables yesterday was feeling a bit bloated.
Too many brussels I think but today will be having
B grapefruit and wholemeal toast
S cuppa soup
L huge salad with tuna and a satsuma
D Veg, new pots and roast beef with a bit of gravy.
Excercise is not so good, had a a 40 minute walk yesterday but then the snow came down.
Attempted to take the dog for a walk but he looked out of the back door and went and jumped back into his basket.
Will try again with him today (He's getting on a bit ) although not looking too hopeful as he is laying on the back of the chair with his paws on the radiator !
