    Hello x
Rossy - I dont eat much after 6 isn - I might have a yogurt or some fruit. It literally just "sits better" if I don't and I don't end up with indigestion at 3am! However, I dont think there is any medical evidence to suggest that eating earlier or later affects the amount of calories burned - just how many.

Ahhhh thanks for this :) I think i enjoy my breakfast more as i find i am ready for it when i dont eat after 7 :)

Me again :) just a quick question...........where do you peeps stand on not eating after a certain time? I have been trying not to eat after 7pm, does anyone else have an opinion on this?

Personally, I don't have any rules regarding time of food. I eat when I'm hungry. I don't think anyone should be going to bed feeling very hungry, but it's what works for the individual I suppose.

I never used to eat until teatime and then had something at supper time.. I was able to keep my weight under control doing that.. I was never hungry during the day.. However, over the years, many people said that was bad for you, so I started having a breakfast.. and I started piling on the weight, 'cause I found I was starving at lunch time and then tea time and had to munch something at supper time as well... Over the years, I ended up eating all the time.. so I have started trying to go back to how I used to be.. eating when I am hungry rather than what other people say...It suits me to eat at tea time and then at supper time.. Although, sometimes, I am having a bowl of soup at lunch time and my main meal at teatime.. Basically, I am eating when I am hungry and stopping when I feel full.

I would say that everyone is different and if you are hungry at night and went to bed hungry.. you might end up nipping into the kitchen and eating during the night ... So I would say to get yourself into a routine of eating when it suits you and your family..

    I hope this helps :)

I just had a nice little meal. 3 Linda McCartney vegetarian sausages (grilled, split down the middle) with lots of salad leaves, a slice of brown bread, and and a chilli-mayonnaise dip. Brilliant for protein, they each have 10g protein and 100kcal which is a good ratio. The hot chilli also gets your metabolism up and is great for health.

Here is a question, does anybody else, like me, like to cook their salad leaves? In Chinese cuisine they mostly stir fry their salad leaves. I much prefer it, but it doesn't seem at all common.

My OH often gets home from work quite late and we like to eat together so I 'm often eating dinner quite late. It works fine for me - if I eat my main meal too early I get hungry (or bored!) later in the evening and it's harder not to snack. If I have dinner planned for quite late, my overall snacking decreases as I won't snack before dinner.

As others have said, I think finding what works for you is important :)

What a day....why didn't it snow on Saturday!!!

B - porridge, skimmed milk, syrup
L - ryvita and philly, yogurt, banana
T - roast chicken breast cooked in spices, salad, butternut squash wedges
S - cereal bar, pear, orange

No exercise...no time!! Finally sat down after preparing tea (getting contents ready for slow cooker for tomorrows tea), emptying dishwasher, emptying school bags, sorting out rubbish and recycling, eating tea...in a minute will get packed lunches ready for tomorrow. Then kids into bath and bed!!!

At least our sensible headteacher cancelled our staff meeting.

It might be worth your while to actually find out when you are hungry.. For example, eat something for your breakfast and then note down when you are hungry again. etc etc so that you find out when you are eating due to hunger and not due to habit..

Remember that the diet industry is worth trillions of dollars so they are not going to make it easy for you..

I also understand what you mean about uncomplicated way of life.. I remember when we used to wait until our dad came home on a Friday night. His pockets were full of sweets and he carried ONE bottle of lemonade.. We each got a little bar of chocolate and a sweetie and the bottle of lemonade was shared between 5 of us.. :A and we were well off... but we looked forward to that for years.... We certainly didn't have the temptations that exist today! :):)
  • Yesterday

    B - Nothing
D - Apple, cereal bar, bag of crisps
T - Cottage pie with green beans, carrots and sweetcorn
    S - packet of crisps

    Today

    B- Porridge
D- Small portion pf cottage pie with carrots and beetroot
T - Fish pie with carrots, green beans and sweetcorn.
S - Low fat hot chocolate

Need to increase my fluid intake as currently only having four or five drinks a day.

Saw the physio today who has taken my exercises right back to very gently stretching as the more advanced ones had really aggravated my back pain, so not much happening on the exercise front for me yet.
I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order :D.
