    Dragon - well done :T :T :T, that's impressive!

I'm off the wheat and I've lost all but 1lb of the weight I put on since this challenge started. So that's -2lb on the last time I posted a weigh in (no I didn't weigh myself last week, not after the 6lb fiasco!)

Theatregirl - will they turn the volume down this year, last time I went to a panto in the Wombles locale I couldn't make out the words it was so loud. A theatre near us is doing an autism friendly one with lower noise levels and fewer flashing lights etc so I'm booking to take DS2 to that (he has quite severe sensory problems).

Can't remember who asked but lemon is good at cutting the sweetness in carrot soup. And if you're in the habit of bulking out a chilli/bolognese with carrot a bit of cocoa powder will reduce the sweetness in that.
I never quite understand how my body works regarding breakfast. When I worked full time I found the days I didn't have time for breakfast other than a couple of cups of coffee I could last until lunchtime before getting really hungry, but now some mornings I waken up ravenous, have breakfast and then am starting to get hungry again by 11.30, what the......

It's not that unusual, it's probably your blood sugars running amok. Have you ever tried a low-carb diet - what you've described is usually helped enormously by lowering your carb intake.

No idea what it was like last year. It's my first Xmas working panto here as I was with the same company but different theatre. I transferred in September. :)

If you ever EVER have a problem with the sound (too low, too high) please just tell a staff member or ask to speak to the duty manager. The Duty Manager will then be able to relay it to backstage or stage door and they will sort it out from there. Especially in circumstances where it is needed ie: autism etc I would imagine that they would do everything in their power to assist you.

Our theatre in particular (as do most I would imagine) always brief the staff and box office have the same information - but we are always told if there is haze, gunshots, smoking onstage, strobe, and so on. You could even make it known to the box office about your son's condition when you make a booking and they would probably be able to advise you re: suitability.

I wonder if I could get your opinions on this situation....

I realised the other day that I have no 'party clothes' for Christmas and New Year this year, plus I have a family wedding to go to in January (I had a lovely Size 14 dress last Christmas that fitted but was a bit tight and boobalicious so I chickened out of wearing it and swore I'd fit into it this Christmas...but there is not a chance :( ) So I ordered four dresses from Next to pick one from.

I got them in a 16 as I'm wearing 16 jeans from Next at the moment. They all fit very comfortably - ALMOST loose - as in I can put them on without unzipping the zips. However, I know that right now 14s in the same dresses would not fit.

Do I keep the almost-loose 16s and take the risk that I lose weight between now and Christmas (which obviously I would like to do!) and then they are really loose? ....or.....do I get 14s and take the risk that I don't lose weight and they don't fit and I have nothing to wear?!

They are fairly fitted dresses so will not look right if they are too big. On the other hand, I will abandon the diet for a fortnight at Christmas so I might be glad of a looser fit when I've had Christmas dinner and 8 bottles of wine in one weekend!

Argh....I don't know what to do. They are quite expensive so I don't want to get the smaller size and then end up in a situation like I have done with last year's dress, which I have never worn. I also don't want to get the bigger size and then only get one wear out of them because I lose weight.

What would you do? Any advice gratefully received!

    Evening All

I've not been posting much this week, mainly because I've been overeating like mad and now have to confess I have put on 2lb. It's not surprising as I've been having such delights as bars of chocolate every night, fried egg sandwiches, toast dripping with butter and lots of cream. I was tempted to drop out if the challenge but am going to keep going - otherwise it will just get worse.

Daisiegg - I would go for the comfortable 16 but keep trying to lose the weight. If you do you could well fit into last year's 14 and if not then you can be comfortable in one of the new ones. You could always go for the one that feels the least loose if you like them all equally. If you save it for Christmas and it's too big you might be able to take it back then anyhow if you've left the tags on.

    B: Raspberries with Greek yoghurt
L: Spinach, garlic and red onion cheese omelette.
D: Chicken thigh with small jacket potato, with butter, sprouts and mushrooms. Banana with a drizzle of double cream.
Snack: Iced coffee. A couple of glasses of Coke.

Exercise: 1 hour stability ball class. Short walk of about 3/4 mile.

I think you've answered your own question - would you want to be uncomfortable in a 14, with it's tell-tale stretches, lumps and bumps, or happy in something you can move in, eat in, sit in, dance in and not have to be conscious of pulling it about to ease it all day - and keep holding yourself in!

Is there a little black dress among the four? Something you can party up with bright accessories - pink/lemon etc., and dress up with cream/emerald/red etc for a wedding? My favourite dress is black, waist-skimming, scoop neckline, below knee length which I dress as above and if I'm going to eat too much, a colourful shawl, or a scarf round the waist-hips covers a multitude of sins. It's a 16, I'm now a 14 but dressed up as above it still looks good (or so they tell me ;))

The most important thing is you're comfortable.

daisiegg - I think I might go for 2 in each size, that way you'll hopefully have something to wear whatever happens, even if it's the 14 before xmas dinner and then a quick change :D

Sorry Dragon, I've STS yet again. Too many chocolate drops, which were supposed to be for cake decorating :o

Daisiegg - if it were me I would keep the one which fitted me the nearest now, until I'd lost enough weight to fit into the 14 (I wish!) then sell the 16 on Ebay!

I would buy the 14 hang it somewhere I see it everyday and hope that that would be enough motivation to keep me on track to fit into it but it is a tough choice  Do you have to buy something now or could you wait a few weeks?

Totally un diet related but I really need to tell someone- my boss is an idiot!!! He couldnt motivate a child to open their xmas presents on xmas day!!

Gosh that feels good to get that out!!!
