lobbyludd spicy porridge is really quite simple, this is for a big pan which lasts me 4/5 days - it's just 2 mugs of porridge oats made with a kettle full of boiled water, a teasp of mixed spice or cinnamon, and a handful of sultanas/raisins/chopped apricots/whatever dried fruit you fancy. Bring to the boil then turn right down to just simmer for as long as possible, I leave mine on low for about an hour. No need for sugar but if you like it sweeter then a chopped banana, apple, pear etc on top gives it a little extra sweetness. Tasty!
WOW! This sounds like something I need to try when I've used up the Quaker golden syrup microwavable freebies in the cupboard!
Just had a enjoyable - ha! - phone call to Virgin Media. We changed the name on the account last month and were told that since we wouldnt be able to access the old account it would be charged to the next bill instead.
Little devils only went and put a £10 late charge fee on the account didnt they - phoned up and got it removed!!!0 -

Yesterday was my unmentioned interview! the company I currently work for is due to be recruiting over the panto season and they have team leader vacancies coming up - and more than 1 slot! Although I went for the interview, and I have some management experience from both previous jobs and my technical training at Uni - once I got in the room my head just became a pile of fluff!
I walked out feeling okay, and didnt have any nerves whatsoever - mostly because I know the guy who was interviewing me, he's been my manager for over a year and transferred to this venue just after I did. But ever since then, this has been replaced with the feelings of "oh my god that was awful" and "what did I actually say in response to the questions?" - a sure sign that it was so bad I am already blocking it out!
Ah well, will have answers by the end of the week, will just have to go on wondering until then.
Re: the above that I posted last night - turns out someone in our department kicked up a bit of a stink because according to them the position wasnt advertised "appropriately enough internally". So our admin department is in turn complaining because they only just finished dealing with the applicants and were looking forward to taking it a bit easier and dealing with other stuff. Instead thanks to the unnamed person they have another batch of applications to be sifted through as the closing date has been extended to NEXT Wednesday (the 14th).
This in turn stresses me out because now I have to wait for the outcome of my own interview - although our general manager got wind of my application + interview and came down tonight when I was on bar to talk to me about it and I told him that I wasnt feeling too good about my chances and all he would say was "I'm not saying anything," which made me even more "oo-er"!
In better news the mini maltesers packet I just scoffed has a barcode inside it for free chocolate.
And I've decided to take my chances and cancel our services with V Media after the hassle we've had the last few months with them. Phoned up Sky and got a very reasonable package deal + lots of freebies such as installation, half price line rental, etc.
Every cloud.......:rotfl:0 -
Oh theatregirl some people are so annoying! I always wonder what theatre you work at as we go to the theatre in London a lot
(don't worry I'm not asking) I will keep fingers crossed you get the job.
Weigh in
I'm sorry Dragon, but it's +2 for me
It may be slightly less than that as I was wearing clothes and hadn't 'been to the loo' (ahem) when I weighed but it's probably fairly accurate. Mind you, I am almost pleased with this as I did a mid week weigh and was +4!!
I will get back on the wagon and keep trying. My goal was for 14 lbs, I have lost 2 of those, and what do we have, 6 weeks left? If I was incredibly strict I could lose 12 lbs in 6 weeks.... I just need to shake this labyrinthitis as I feel really poorly with it. Have done no exercise yet!
Good luck with the weigh in everyone.....we can all do what we want this week as Dragon's amazing loss will cancel all our naughties out:rotfl:

Just for you (and me) Dragon - 1lb loss! At last I'm off that blooming plateau again :j
