I've just run my first ever full 5K without stopping!!!

    Well done WW !! HSpuschel-schmal.gif

What a fantastic achievement and I'm sure you will do well when you run in the 5k race x

    Question please.....

Do any of you weigh heavier first thing in the morning ? If I weigh when I first get up after a pee (sorry if this is tmi ) I am 1-2 lb heavier than if I have a cup of tea then a second pee. I think maybe I am retaining water overnight from what I've read. I suppose the true test for weightloss is to weigh at the same time each week after doing the same things beforehand, but I am gonna start and weigh after the cup of tea as this seems to be more "me" weight rather than fluid

MiniCooper - I was in a hotel where breakfast and a buffet dinner was included so I tended to have fruit for breakfast and maybe a cereal bar, just something little for lunch (maybe a salad or a small sandwich) and then for dinner lots of salad (maybe half of the plate) and whatever was available that was vegetarian (not always a brilliant choice). I think the key was hardly drinking alcohol (2 beers all week) and doing quite a bit of swimming and 1 run, oh and no icecreams! I did feel bloated when I came back but that went within a couple of days, think it was mostly water retention.

Well, it was actually 5.2K and the time won't rival Mo Farrah but I did it. I was talking to my hairdresser in the park with the dogs this morning (he runs) and he said that its all about mental attitude. If you think you can't do it you won't, he said that if you can run 80% of the way you can run the whole thing you just need to believe you can. I tried it and guess what it works!!

I'm so pleased with myself (hope nobody minds me celebrating?) as only 7 or 8 weeks ago I didn't even own a proper pair of trainers and wouldn't/couldn't run. I'm a 40 year old woman that hadn't really exercised for at least 5 years (apart from dog walking) and now I swim a mile twice a week and am doing my first proper 5K race on Sunday - if I can do it anyone can.

Wow - well done! :T You have inspired me to try running. I usually give up so quickly as I find running really hard work (dont we all if we are unfit). :D

    Oooops!
Thought I'd treat myself to a big bag of crisps (used to have these all of the time) for doing the run and it being bank holiday. Think my tastes have changed as they tasted greasy and fatty and I didn't really enjoy them at all. Won't be doing that again in a hurry, its taken me over my cals for the day by about 200 cals too, not pleased with myself now.

  • Morning all !

Dreadful weather yesterday left me feeling down in the dumps. Spent the day lounging on the sofa and eating junk :o Heres the evidence

    B - none didnt get up until 12 :o
L - leftover roast chicken dinner
S - leftover chowmein, 4 chicken goujons (sp?) with sweet chilli dip
D - cheesy chips and egg
Ginger cake and custard (very small portion ;) )
    Frozen Banana

I think I need to reduce my target for this challenge if thats allowed?? I think 7lb will be more realistic, and I would be pleased with half a stone off. With 5 wks of the challenge left (incl rest of this week) that leaves me 4lb to lose which I think I can acheive.

    Plans for today:

B - weetbic and sk milk
L - not sure yet need to go food shopping this morning
    D - spag bol
    Snacks will be fruit
Exercise - aim to walk for 60 mins

    Have a good day x

    Morning all!
    Its stopped raining!
Been out for a 25 min walk with the dog in the sunshine, made a nice change. Will go swimming this morning, no running today, giving the legs a rest but will do a walk for an hour or so later with the dog after his makeover appointment (doggy haircut day).
Back on the straight and narrow today foodwise - felt yukky after the crisps and I think the fat affected my digestive system this morning (IYKWIM;)).
