OMG! You'll never guess what just happened!

I was quite happily minding my own business, ploughing up and down the swimming pool when a lady that I'm sort of on nodding terms with burst out laughing and said "look at that pillock over there!". I turned to see, to my horror, my ex husband in an olympic style all in one black swimsuit (with arms and legs:rotfl:) flapping up and down the pool like a dying fly. I nearly blo*dy drowned! I haven't clapped eyes on him for over a year (since we separated, divorce was done by email would you believe) and he'd moved away to the other side of the city, the first time I see him he looks like a bald, podgy bellied laughing stock - all he needed were flippers and a snorkel:rotfl:
I told the lady who he was and she was horrified and said "good job you've got rid of that , you're so much better than that" (bless her).
Now, thankfully I'm thinner and more tanned than the last time I saw him but I still waited until he was up the other end and then leapt out (I had finished my mile by then) and dove straight into the changing rooms, had the quickest shower ever and ran from the building before he emerged, pathetic I know:o

What a lucky escape - I could still be married to that:eek:
Off for a lie down in a darkened room.......

PS Welcome back Thrifty! Well done on the loss this week, sometimes we all need a break. xx

Morning (just!) all, thank you for the welcome back :)

N2BT lovely to see you back, don't skulk in but come back with with a smile cos you're among friends - many who have taken a break themselves :)
Welcome back ragz, hope you had a good break

    B F&F sk milk
L - Bacon and rf cheese on 2 slices Danish spread w/ff yogurt
D - fusilli with green pesto, sun-dried tomatoes
S - apple, melon, nectarine, grapes, nana
E - 1 hour gym. Gave bathroom a good clean to mop up the spots of hair dye I missed last night :o, kitchen floor to be washed before bed tonight, the only time I can do it cos the mogs and dog are in and out all day

Trying to drink less tea and more water, I know it's good for the inside but hoping it might help with my 'smile' lines as well ;). I'm addicted to my tea so have put a full water bottle on the side table where I sit when I'm reading in hope I'll just reach out for it instead of getting up to make tea. Fingers crossed!

    Have a sunny day :)

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    hello all.

here is my confession. i have come back from holiday with 11 pounds to loose. i can do this. all my clothes will feel lovely instead of me running in and straight up the stairs to put my jogging bottoms on as they are more comfy!!( as i sit here i have my joggers on)
been very inspired by the hairy dieters and have their korma in the pan as we speak. will have to try and make my portions smaller in general and i know that will help. by rights i should easily loose that weight by christmas. ive just made triple choc cookies for the kids and only baked 6 for them and put the rest in the freezer. they are my fav but i had a peach instead. they are on a par with the ones you get in te@co in the bags so they are very naughty and i feel quite proud of myself. ....ok i feel smug even:rotfl:
does anyone know ....if you have stepped off the plane 2 hours before do you hold water from the pressure of the flight?? i lost 3 pounds overnight. i have a feeling it wasnt my diet lol:p

Skulk’s back in, head hung in shame :o

Hi Folks, sorry I disappeared for a few weeks, but after doing this challenge since January I just lost it BIG TIME. I got so disappointed week after week after week of STS so decided not to be hard on myself and just have a bit of what I fancied when I fancied it, mostly crisps, biscuits - not just 1 or 2 but ½ a pkt at a time - oh and alcohol :naughty:

I have been keeping an eye on the thread and noticed some of you were having a similar experience, but the tenacity and enthusiasm of others has made me determined to start chasing the wagon again….I have a bit of catching up to do….I hit “rock bottom” end of last week when I stepped on the scales and 5lbs  had crept on since my last weigh-in

Welcome back!!!! Afew of us have really struggled lately I know I have.
At least you have 'caught it early' too meaning putting on only 5 lbs as it could have been much worse- so good for you :j

    Evening All

I've had a busy day, with the unexpected (unplanned) treat of DGD for the afternoon. We had a lovely time playing games, doing jigsaws and making butterfly buns amongst other things.

    B: Raspberries with Greek yoghurt
L: Scrambled egg with smoked salmon. HM chocolate mousse
D: Pork sparerib chop with mushrooms, HG green beans and HG golden courgette. I made a cremefraiche cheesy sauce with mustard to go on the green beans which was very nice. Half a bar of dark chocolate (20g).

Exercise: Just a short walk as it's been pouring it down most of the day.

    Hiya

WW That did make me laugh! You will be prepared that he might be there again and be able to get out of the pool all happy with your new shape and having just swum your mile easily while he is flapping around!

The weather has been miserable today but I'm determined not to let it affect me

b-2 w'bix with skim milk, glass of oj
l-half tin of beans on toast - no butter
d-chicken kiev with stir fry rice. Gave myself about half the rice I usually have and used no fat in cooking it
    s- apple and rocky bar
e-2 walks with the dog but shortish ones - not the weather for a long ramble today!
