The most difficult thing I find is that I weigh myself every day and it is SO up and down I can't believe it.
I know that the received wisdom is that you should only weigh yourself once a week but that doesn't work for me - I'm in the every day category too!
Because I work at a computer every day, I stick it all into a spreadsheet. Rather than worrying about any one individual number, I put it on a graph and worry about whether the line seems to be going up or down. I had to admit recently that its been going steadily up all year and unless I change something, its going to keep going up.
The 10,000 step/day challenge at work is helping. I was a bit below target on the first week but we're in week 2 now and I'm pulling back some of the deficit. I'm not seeing an impact on the scales yet but then I've never been the sort of person to lose (or gain!) weight rapidly. I don't usually put on a significant amount on holiday or over christmas or anything, but equally I don't tend to lose very much when I go on a diet or join a gym. Hopefully the upward slope will tail off and start moving down over the next couple of weeks.
Having said which, I am going to join the next challenge. I'm currently 74kg so I'm going to aim to be under 70kg by the end of the challenge i.e. aiming for 4kg off That's less than 0.5kg per week but its the first time I've ever put a deadline on weightloss so I have no idea how achievalbe it is. We have a holiday in the middle - usually involves eating more but also exercising more. Hopefully one will balance out the other0 -

I haven't done anything startling, I'm just trying to eat less
It is fairly OS because i've done things like give up sugar in tea - and so haven't had to buy any - I'm amazed at how much I must have got through!
So, do I declare, publicly, the awful truth? Or just say I'd like to lose xxx pounds?0 -

Afternoon All
I didn't achieve my target this time but am lighter than when I started so success of a sort. Like Sparrer my target is 8st 7lb so I am aiming for 11lb loss to get there. I am counting my weight today as 9st 4lb though the scales did flicker at 9st 3lbs and then settle back on 9st 4. I've just got back from giving blood so maybe that'll jump start things! Mind you they made me eat a chocolate biscuit so maybe not.
B: Sardine and tomato omelette. Sounds a weird combination but I was in a hurry as I needed to eat before exercise class and I was running late. I made some sardine pate yesterday which I am not sure about so I slung some into the omelette.
L: None but I had a big breakfast and went out for coffee after class. Not sure yet. The family are coming to tea and I'm making them a shepherd's pie but don't really fancy it. DGD is coming to stay overnight so I don't think I'll get chance to post later.
Snack: Iced coffee. Chocolate Club biscuit
Exercise: 1 hour stability ball class. 20 lengths at the pool before it was the end of the session. Walk to exercise class and back.
