Does anyone have any tips on how to motivate yourself to exercise when you are SO TIRED after work every day?
I know what you'll say...there are no special secrets...you just have to DO IT!!! But so far I have been completely failing. In the evenings after work I'm so tired I get to the dizzy stage of fatigue. It's as much as I can do to do a few hours of work when I get in from work (something sounds wrong in that sentence! Oh the life of a teacher!) and do some housework and cooking. I can't contemplate how I'd find the energy to exercise as well..
It is very hard and if you really are that tired I wouldnt push yourself too hard- maybe just a slow stroll or a slow swim to start off?
I think sometimes people get the idea that exercise has to be a full on boot camp type thing to count  :rotfl:
I love swimiming and sometimes I dont feel like going but I think because I found something I like to do I still go and then feel better for it
Today:
B: 2 x hm bread toasted, butter, banana
S: Apple, Grapes
L: prawn salad, 2 x bread sticks, orange
S: Low plain greek yog, HG stawberries (and a cake- someones bday in the office and surely it rude to say no?)
T: Prob egg on toast- am babysitting for my friend tonight so need something quick
When we weigh tomorrow do we declare starting weight for next challenge and how much we want to lose?
Do we call the next challenge- Where is the summer os weight loss challenge? :rotfl:O/S weight loss 2.5 /10lbs (11st 8.0- 08.02)0 -
Hey all.
Not been on for a few days as not really been on the laptop much :-D
I had a slip up tuesday and wednesday. Tuesday my fella wanted his dinner from the shop as he didn't fancy anything we had in so we ended up getting a few goodies (well, baddies) that we munched on Tuesday and Wednesday. It put me over on my calories on both days by a couple of hundred, but the MyFitnessPal app said that I would still lose weight so no harm done, and on Wednesday I upped my exercise to try and make up for a bit of it (74 minutes on Wii Sports!)
Todays meal plan is:
B - Four slices of toast & utterly butterly
L - Homemade soup with two flat breads
D - Homemade fishcakes and oven chips
Snacks - a glass of orange juice, maybe some cups of tea and fruit later on.
Exercise - 20 minutes on Wii Sports Tennis so far, I'm hoping to get another 40 mins or so in later on but not sure yet.
So far I'm around 600 calories under my goal, more if I do more exercise, so i'm hoping that will make up for my two bad days!
Weigh in tomorrow, can't wait :-D hopefully I've lost againTotal Weight Loss Progress = -17lbs

Hello all
Welshwoofer what an eventful evening. Pleased that the little bunny will find a safe home.
Daisiegg, if you really are tired than rest is the best thing. I'm the same after a 12 hour shift, even sitting reading a book or watching tele is a chore. I have to accept that at such times exercise is not a priority. I do however manage a 30 min walk in the morning with shammy dog. However when the alarm goes off at 5.20am:eek:, the air is often blue.:rotfl:I'm not a morning person but once I'm up its somehow easier. Could you exercise at a different time, it doesnt have to always be strenuous.
Welcome amyloofoo, I'm new too and everyone is so helpful and friendly. I agree with Skintyetagain, if its posted on here its somehow easier to follow.
So for today
B: porridge, kiwi, plum & pineapple
L: yesterdays l/o pasta & sauce, nectarine & yoghurtwill be mince & dumplings with pots & lots of veg.( Mr DDD's favourite, I may have a small dumpling)
S: nana, apple, possibly a fromage frais later
Exercise: as I wasnt working today and it wasnt raining. 80min walk with shammy this morning, will do his usual 30 min later and 20 min walk to shops.
Looking forward to new challenge starting tomorrow, will have to think what I want to achieve!

Have visitors so can't stop long....
Breakfast cereal bar
Snack - Oddities
Lunch - jacket potato, beans and cheese, small pk of crisps
Tea - bagel with low fat spready cheese
Evening - strawberries with small scoop of low fat icecream
Not a brilliant day but I have managed the Couch to 5K run at least.0 -
dasiegg - it's not bad having the odd night off, but if you feel too guilty try skipping with an imaginary rope (yes with the arm movements!), 500 skips takes about 5-10mins, gets your heart going, but I'll just do it in my pjs, so no extra time to get the exercise gear on.
B: toast with jam
L: bagel with cream cheese and cereal barSpag Bol with lots of veggie content
S: 2 biscuits, couple of bits of chcolate, some wafer biscuits, small handful of peanuts (I had a training session today, hence a lot more bad stuff)
Exercise: Body Blast class, 20 minutes on gym equipment0 -
Evening all
Today was -
B - spicy, fruity porridge
D - Griiled sausage and tomato, sauteed onion, mushrooms, fried egg, slice toast. Apple
T - 3 crackerbread, one with salmon 'pate' made with mashed salmon fillet, a little yogurt and black pepper which was delicious, 1 Marmite, 1 marmalade
S - kiwi, plums, pear melon
E - 45 mins gym, gardening this afternoon. Gave up waiting for it to stop raining so put my jacket and wellies on and did some much needed weeding. As I finished it stopped raining and the sun came out :rotfl:. If I didn't laugh I'd cry!

Hi ladies (are there any fellas?).
Please may I join in? OH and I started two weeks ago Sunday - I can't afford a diet group or the gym, so we are just eating less... and it's working!
But I know keeping motivation is going to be hard. I also have a disabled knee and ankle, so exercise is difficult at best.
Can someone point me in the right direction? The most difficult thing I find is that I weigh myself every day and it is SO up and down I can't believe it.0
