Devastating emails... :(

Could we all not protest on their facebook page - asking if they would have at least have the decency to provide a consolation prize. If one person started with a 'my friend is devastated because...' we could all the post under it things like - don't be rotten coast give the lady a dress

After reading this post I decided to check my 'other' inbox (which I have never looked at before not really knowing what it was for) and am gutted to see an email from Next in September notifying me that I had won a pair of boots in the Freebie Friday competition and to reply within 14 days with my address and size!!

What's the "other" inbox please? I can't seem to find it on my facebook

on your home page on left hand side it says messages and it should say other under that or you click messages and then it appears

On your f/b page on the left below the news feed caption it should say "messages" click on that and a small subtitle should show up underneath that says "other"
If you click on the speech bubble at the top it doesn't show, so if you want to see any message always click on the one on the left.
I didn't know about it myself until Sony told me how to do it when I won some headphones.

I didn't know that was there, found a number of emails stretching back a few months saying I've won stuff, probably too late now but i know for the future!

edit - someone at manatomicals just replied to me replying late saying its ok! just need to see what the Hut say about the sonic game from last month.

Just to let you all know, I wrote to IPM asking if I had any right to appeal because Coast only contacted me via Facebook which is against regulations. They forwarded it to the Advertising Standards Authority who replied with this message:

Thank you for your recent complaint about a competition you entered on Coast’s Facebook page, which has been referred to us from the IPM.

I’m afraid that we won’t be able to investigate whether Coast are in breach of Facebook’s conditions on promotions, this is something you would need to contact Facebook about directly. The ASA can only assess ads under the CAP Code.

I’m sorry we cannot help you further, but I hope you are able to resolve your complaint.
