Devastating emails... :(

Oh dear OP
Gutted for you.
As someone else said, I'd be interested in hearing the subject and body of the original email, in case other comp organisers are similarly avoiding obvious wording, to give an idea of what kind of thing to look out for. I have filters for the words congratulations, winner, won and prize, which I thought would cover everything, but if there's ways of letting you know you've won without using those, I'd like to know what they are so I can add additional filters.
Hope you get a big win really soon to make up for this one! Loads of comps finishing tomorrow, so fingers crossed for you.0 -
It was Coast Advent - Coast moments and was from a lady(?) named Puja Gokani. Good luck all
hope its an mse'er x
I've checked all my emails (and junk) which have the word "coast" in - no luck...
Hopefully there's another big win for you just around the corner - good luck !!Best win ever: Trip to the Galapagos Islands in 20100 -
I just got this as a reponse to my reply:
Firstly I’d like to apologise for any disappointment caused. The subject line in our winner’s emails have generally been the same for all our customers as using terms such as “Congratulations” or “You’ve won!” increases the risk of spam, so we aim to avoid this wherever possible.
I understand that you would not have ignored the initial email if you had seen it however this is why we give a 48 hour time frame for winners to get in touch before we choose an alternative winner. We set terms before any competition goes live and is accessible at all times during the course of a competition. By entering a competition it is bound by the terms set by the Promoter (Coast).
I’d like to apologise for not responding to your previous email sooner and for any inconvenience caused
can't say fairer than that0 -
Thank you
it wasnt very high tech or special just the truth - its on the site still under coast moments wedding guests, i'm the one in the black dress and red hat with MrR on my arm x
Lovely pic and a good write up. No wonder they published it. I look forward to seeing your next bigger and better WEM. :beer:I am brave, I am bruised
I am who I'm meant to be
I'm not scared to be seen
I make no apology
THIS IS ME!

I find that a quick scan of my emails as well as other filters set up I open any from a "Name" as such as these are usually personalised to you whereas general emails usually only have the company name if that makes sense?
Gutted for you OP xx0 -

Sorry, I mean notifying just by FB meassage
Do you know where I can find the rules on Facebook competitions? I might be able to get them on this.
Found it: http://www.facebook.com/promotions_guidelines.php
Term 6 states: You must not notify winners through Facebook, such as through Facebook messages, chat, or posts on profiles (timelines) or Pages.

Had just gone on to post this :rotfl:
However I found it via post #247 on here so seems they regularly allow their own rules to be flouted. Still, it is in the rules so you might have a shot at the organisers:)"If ever there is a tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart... I'll always be with you. "

So sorry for you and think I'm the third one to miss out:( Had internet down and finally checked facebook other messages expecting nothing only to be overjoyed that I finally won a advent and it was a coast dress I chose! Sadly message was sent on Wednesday and think I've missed out by about four hours on the deadline so after reading this thread I think I may have lost out on this too unless they give a little leeway. I really would be so gutted if I was in your shoes and its worse that it was a creative win. Mine was about saying why I liked a dress- I never do well on these as there's so many clever people doing poems etc so it did cheer me up twice! Thanks for posting about this as my partner told me straight away not to get excited! Still its going on my list of wins even if they don't give it me as every year seems to be worse for me so I'm counting it
Wishing you loads of luck in the New Year and really hope you had some nice wins so far to make up for the loss a bitx 0 -

Thanks. I have fired off an email to IPM so will let you all know how I get on. I'm not holding my breath but they shouldn't be allowed to get away with this.
I have scoured the internet for the email address of Margaret McDonald, MD of Aurora Fashions, without success. If anybody has it can you let me know and I'll foward my email on to her. Based on another email address I found on the net, I tried the following: margaret.mcdonald@aurorafashions.com but it bounced back.0 -
Ah, what a shame MrMrsR. I know how you feel - I missed out on a weekend in Brighton because I was on holiday when the letter came. Not just a weekend in Brighton though - 2 nights in a boutique hotel, cash to spend in the hotel sports shop, dinner in a nearby restaurant, cocktails and nightclub entry, car hire for the entire weekend and all of it to be photographed for a promotion in Stella magazine in the Times (I think) newspaper.
Very gutted. No consolation prize. Just had to suck it up and move on.
Hope you do get some kind of consolation though. xIf you have nothing constructive to say just move along.0
