I replied minutes after receving the mail to say i had lost out and she's ignored my plea :( Toniq - I've found the comp (thanks chelsea1969) and yes T&C's state 48 hours and if no response a replacement winner to be drawn, obviously Coast arent very good at customer services, I remember trying to return an unworn dress years ago and the sales assistant insisting I had worn it despite the fact it never fit and refusing me a refund or exchange.

give it chance. perhaps she had gone home for the day and didn't check her emails before leaving.

I hope you get something out of it.

Bit mean to email to say you have missed out. Should have just drawn a new winner and notified them

  • i had same happen with a pushchair never had WEM but got sorry u missed out week later. I pleaded with them and even sent shittty one when they didnt reply within 4 days saying if they werent gonna respond least acknowledge my complaint. As in the comp we were asked for mobile number and yet they never tried it to get hold of me in the week i had to claim. They refused to back down and no consolation prize
  • The email saying you were too late was probably sent so that there would be no mix up should you come across the original one.

I'm really sorry to hear about what's happened. I'm a strong believer that things even out though, hoping there's an even better win for you just around the corner x

I think it is unreasonable at this time of year to expect someone to reply to an email within 48 hours. I really hope they come good for you.

  • I feel gutted for you. But it's not your fault, obviously they did everything to make sure that you will miss out. And 48hrs is ridiculous respond time.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you for the future,I'm sure you will win BIG very soon :)

  • You would have thought that with a prize of that value they would have sent more than one email.

I recently won something to the value of £15 and responded to the email quite quickly providing my details as requested. A day later I received a further email asking for my details again as they had not heard from me (although I had responded). I thought it was really good of them to send a second email rather than just give the prize to someone else.
  • pretty ridiculous that they haven't even sent you 1 reminder or warning email...would have thought 1 email would the bare minimum they could do.

Why not give her a few days, if she doesn't respond contact the ipm, and let them know, you never know they might be able to sway this in your favour! Please don't see it as a lost cause till you have explored the avenues open xx

I have found the MD : Margaret McDonald, if you can wait till morning, I can find the email for her, Maybe she will be willing for the sake of good public relations etc etc to sort this out.

I'm so sorry for you. I had a similar thing over a pair of headphones that (apparently) sell for over £500. I had received 2 emails asking for my details, but even though they had gone into my normal Inbox I had missed them because they just didn't look like winning emails. The third one, telling me they had redrawn the comp was titled something like 'Unclaimed Prize Winner' and of course the word 'winner' meant it was highlighted because of the filter I had set up. Shame they weren't so clear on the earlier emails. I've gone on to better prizes though, so don't give up.
