Just did a quick google search, you might find more competitive price. Hope it helpsNothing Changes if Nothing Changes0 -
i just found this
"All Supermarkets sell Tate & Lyle Golden Syrup. Almost the same thing as cornsyrup.
If you can't find it, make your own - see below
This is a substitute for corn syrup. A cheaper alternative.
Ingredients:
2 cups sugar
3/4 cup water
1/4 tsp. cream of tarter
dash of salt
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a heavy, large pan. Stir and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer and put a cover on for 3 minutes to get sugar crystals off the sides of the pan. Uncover and cook until it reaches soft ball stage. Stir often.
Cool syrup and store in a covered container at room temperature. It will keep 2 months. Yield: almost 2 cups. For dark corn syrup add 1/4 cup molasses to the above recipe.
Time: 5 Minutes Preparation Time
25 Minutes Cooking Time"
no idea if its any good or not
but would be a whole lot cheaper than buying it0 -
When I made some teacakes I used golden syrup:
Recipe: http://bakes-a-lot-lady.blogspot.co.uk/2011/06/marshmallow-teacakes.html
But note - the marshmallow inside a teacake is really gooey and not 'rubbery' (for want of a better word). I don't know if this is because it doesn't contain Gelatine?0 -
MrsDrink that looks gorgeous. Thanks for the recipe.

Hello - still loving all the new ideas you've all come up with, what a talented bunch! I'll be back on to hopefully share mine when I decide what to do!
Can I ask a quick question though regarding the jingle frames mentioned early on: If I buy bells in bulk from China, will I have to pay import duty on them when they arrive? I've never bought anything from China before so I'm a bit worried! Any advice (and a link to any trusted sellers if you've used them!) would be very much appreciated!0 -
Hi guys, I have a question...
Where do you all get the cupcake cases from for the sock/flannel muffins please?
I bought some off ebay but they're far too small....May: Camping set for 4, 2 books.0 -
i buy a lot of items from china, probably between 40-60 items a month
they are all low value items and i've never been charged
unlike my american purchases
when i made the cupcakes i couldnt it to work with muffin cases and i used old fashioned ice cream tubs, the waxed cardboard kind, they come in lots of funky colours and i topped mine with a red bath pearl0
