The Completely Crazy 2012 Clothes Challenge

  • Thank you. :D

I wasn't sure whether to go for the 8 or the 10 as H&M sizes can run a bit small (I'm an 8 in most shops) but the fabric is stretchy so I went with the 8 anyway and it's a perfect fit. I think the 10 would have been too baggy for my liking and would have swamped me (I'm small :o).

My clothing bugbear at the moment is that I can't find any skinny jeans that are short enough for me. 32" legs are too long on me and I can hardly find 30" around. :( I saw some lovely purple coloured skinny jeans but they were too long in the leg. :(

Topshop & Miss Selfridge have skinnies in their petite sections. I just bought a pair from M&S, really reasonable for £22.50 and they do a short length. I went for black but they come in several colours and they're a lovely fit (though they call them jeggings for some reason!!)
That's the spend I have to declare. They will get much use and will be perfect for my weekend away next week to go to see Rammstein:rotfl:. But are also brilliant for a casual night out with a blouse and heels.

Gradually eating away at my budget:eek:

Don't you need a special tool to remove the watch back?

the watch man at St ives market tried to tell me I should not mess about with changing the battery myself but am thinking he just wanted the (very lucrative) business. My DH is a service engineer on specialised hospital equipment so has lots of tools and am guessing he just used one of them if a normal scredriver did not work( my watch is just a basic man,s watch by the way as a/ I have big wrists(I can hardly ever get bracelets to fit) and b/I need a big watch to be able to read the time without my glasses on:rotfl:
it just annoys me to be charged so much when the batteries themselves cost only a few pence:mad:,my latest watch(I have 4 now inc an old ladies one DH bought me 33 years ago that I never wear as too small to read:(but is an old fashioned wind up much more environmentally friendly as no batteries to throw....by the way the bin men who took my bag of batteries off the blue bin failed to leave me a new one:mad:)as just bought one in Pia sale for £12:)so at that price hardly worth paying to have a battery fitted:rotfl:

wore my new pair of Windsmoor trousers to church on wednesday, just as I was going out I spotted the hem was unravelling so had to quickly pin it with safety pins.i was annoyed about this as the same thing happened wearing a new skirt a couple of years ago, again Windsmoor. Now I buy the items when greatly reduced but when you think a pair of trousers costs £99 full price you would think they could do the hems so they don't come down!:mad::mad::mad:

    Debt-free and Proud!
Morning all! Well I have finally set free the red skirt. I wore it with black boots and the black jumper wth the red necklace. The pattern on it is mainly white (prob why I always wore a white top with it) but there is a smidgeon of blue in the pattern on the bottom tier and sequins. Lula - I will look out for a navy top, see if I can find a bargain somewhere. Navy's never really a colour I've worn before, I'm so boring/stale with my colour schemes.

My dd buys designer clothes and has the same problem with hems - the stitch they use in the factory to sew hems is easily pulled out. I know - I sat sewing hems all day when I was a machinist - good for us if we made a mistake and had to redo a hem - it was piece work.

I'm not spending any more money for a while. Spent so much yesterday (but was nice to treat myself) and I have alot of bills coming out over the next couple of weeks (I hate it when bills all come at around the same time. :().

DH keeps walking around the flat telling me he's proud of me. :rotfl:

I was so determined to have a month of not spending on clothes/shoes but ended up needing to buy wellies after splitting my last pair at dog training class.

£12.99 for a pair from Mr T. Not sure they will last too long but decent wellies are so expensive :(
