I know what you mean Rosemary 54. I come into cambridge pretty often and am surprised at the lack of 'cheap' shops. Apart from £land in the grafton centre there are no other equivalent shops. I troll the charity shops and am often raising my eyebrows at their inflated prices... grrrrr

    sorry.. moan over now :o
I was charged £6 to have a watch battery changed on the upmarket:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:thye cost about 10p each as DH now buys them and changes them for me ...what a mark up:mad:also about double what st Ives market charged(we had run out at home as DH needs to buy 10 at a time(maybe I should set him up on a stall:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Hello all! You all seem to have an eye for what clothes go together, I'm pants at it! I usually wear black bottoms or jeans. In summer I wear white bottoms to be summery so mixing and matching with tops is fairly easy.

However, in my wardrobe I have a long pillarbox red floaty skirt (tiered effect, silver trim on bottom, think there's a small pattern in it of blue/black/green???? - I'm at work now, trying to imagine it) When I bought it, I wore it with a either a black or white jersey, ribbed cami (both long gone) would love to set it free and wear it again (I'm going out tomorrow night) and thought it would go well with my new long black boots. Question is - what colour of top might go with it apart from white or black? I know it's a longshot as you probably can't visualise the skirt but I'd be keen to hear what colours you wear with red for some inspiration...

I'm really tempted to wear my ribbed pj cami top with it but I'd know it was a pj top, mind you where I live going out in pjs seems to be all the rage lol;)

I look at my vest tops and pj tops and half the time can't tell the diff, literally yesterday took off one grey vest top ...replaced for bed with a pj grey vest top!

Speaking of grey, have you tried that with your skirt? I would try and pick out one of the colours in your skirt if possible in the colour of the top you wear. Failing that, if you're wearing black boots then a black top could pull it together as an outfit - esp if you then could accessorise with items that pick out the colour pattern in the skirt.

I'm sure some of the others on here are much better at colours than me, my wardrobe is a variation on grey, neutral and stripes along with lots of jeans :o

Thanks Kerri. I haven't thought of grey. I ended up buying a black short sleeved jumper type top at Mr A's last night for £8 (I remember why I usually shop online now, d'oh!) Well at least I won't be resorting to my pj vest :p. I'm nervous of wearing two bright colours together in case I get it wrong, that's why I usually wear black or white bottoms. :o

A friend bought me a red pendant on a black thong necklace for xmas that I haven't worn yet which will go well I think :T

Hey lovelies. Had a doctors appointment this morning and went to the Pharmacy to collect my pills....6 boxes worth! Bloody nora!

Then my lovely DH took me shopping at Cribbs Causeway. I don't normally get to go out that much as I'm ill most of the time (I have severe M.E) so when I do go out, even if it's only for a little while, it's nice.

However, I was naughty and bought some things.

Some grey flat ankle boots from H&M - These are gorgeous! I'm very much into the grunge look.:o They were £30 but I won a £25 H&M giftcard so I only had to put £5 towards them, so I'm only counting the £5. :p

This dress from H&M (although, not a bit annoyed that I bought it for £14.99 and it's £7.99 in the sale online, but such is life)

A purple jumper from New Look. It has a cat face on it. This was £14.99 but it's so adorable!

Also bought a butterfly necklace from Accessorize which is beautiful and will also be good as a photography prop. :) Also bought Call of Duty: MW3 and Hescher on DVD for DH (aren't I a lovely wife?!) but those don't count, obviously. ;)

That brings my total spend so far to £48.98/£250

I went for the dark blue. :) It was actually DH who pointed it out. I find it harder to browse in shops now because of the wheelchair (alot of shops aisles aren't wide enough so I usually want to get out as soon as I can as it sends my anxiety sky high) so DH is usually my eyes so to speak and he knows my style really well. :) It looks lovely with the boots. Will have to wear the dress with leggings though. It's a bit too short to go bare-legged with.:rotfl:

Don't you need a special tool to remove the watch back?

    Hey all,

    happy new spends to all

LadyMorticia - I love that dress, so simple yet a really pretty shape :)

his missus - depending on the shade of red, I quite like the thought of a dark navyish blue, it can seem a bit softer than black sometimes. Again, it really depends on the shades/tones, but a pink can often look great too.

I have a spend to declare. A whole 99p :D I won the cardi I was bidding on, & the p&P was £3 but I had that in my paypal account so I've only spent 99p.

The weather was so gorgeous today I had a sudden panic about having to change my work outfits from the trusty dress, woolly tights & boots combo that's kept me clothed for the last few months.

    Thank you. :D

I wasn't sure whether to go for the 8 or the 10 as H&M sizes can run a bit small (I'm an 8 in most shops) but the fabric is stretchy so I went with the 8 anyway and it's a perfect fit. I think the 10 would have been too baggy for my liking and would have swamped me (I'm small :o).

My clothing bugbear at the moment is that I can't find any skinny jeans that are short enough for me. 32" legs are too long on me and I can hardly find 30" around. :( I saw some lovely purple coloured skinny jeans but they were too long in the leg. :(
